Into Each Generation a slayer is born. One girl in all the world She alone will stand against the vampires the demons and the forces of darkness. She is the Slayer.

The beginning of the amazing 7 year run of Buffy the Vampire slayer. For those of you who watched the Buffy Movie with Kirsty Swanson and think god not a series of it. The movie doesn't even touch the series.

From the creator Joss Whedon comes an amazing Series with a cast including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan, David Boreanaz, Anthony Stewart Head and many more.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is based around the story of Buffy Summers, an until recently normal teenage girl who discovers that she is the chosen one, a warrior of the people who's duty is to protect the world from the forces of darkness.

Buffy and her mom move to Sunnydale because her Mom got a new job.

Of course been in a new town means new school. Sunnydale high in fact. She enrols only to find out that her slaying days that she thought were over actually are not as the new Librarian Mr Giles is actualy her new watcher ... so much for the new start, but i guess thats what happens when you go to a school on the hellmouth.

Due to Buffys strange behaviour and of course Willon (Alyson Hannigan) and Xander (Nicholas Brendon) overhearing Giles and Buffy in the library (not a great way to keep a secret identity, secret) buffy makes 2 new friends who help her in her battle against evil.

As well as battling the forces of darkness Buffy has to deal with the usual teenage high school problems. Popularity, schoolwork, cheerleading, Boys.

With Sunnydale been demon central, theres no end to the amount of nasties out to rid the world of the plague of humanity. But there is one big bad in particular... The master. an incredibly old powerful vampire who has been kept in a mystical prison below Sunnydale for nearly a century. His plan is to open the Hellmouth that Sunnydale is built on releasing not only himself but untold evils onto the world. The only thing Buffy has to do is stop him...

What with all this saving the world, how does a poor teenage girl find the time to bag herself a hottie?.. well She does, in the form of a 240 year old vampire with a soul known as Angel. But it isn't all hearts and flowers, not only does Buffy not know he's a vampire until halfway through the season, but she learns of his past.

Angel, previously called Angelus cursed with the return of his soul by gypsies after he slaughtered members of their family. Despite being a vampire, Angel cannot kill humans as his soul has brought back his conscience so spends his life drinking animal blood and trying to atone for the death and carnage he brought to the world during his time as a killer.

The first season of Buffy only contains 12 episodes so it's a little shorter than the usual 22 episode season. But they are a great 12 episodes. A lot is packed into 1 series and it always keep you wanting more.

Joss has very cleverly managed to imput a lot of what every teenager goes through while in school and i guarantee that there is someone in the show who you can relate to.

The Packaging is different to when the DVD was initially released, but this makes it a lot cheaper and i personally prefer this rather than the book style.

The Episodes consist of

Welcome to the Hellmouth:

Part 1 of a 2 part episode.

Picking up where the feature film left off, Buffy Summers and her mom move to Sunnydale, California, for a fresh start, unaware of the evil lurking in this quiet suburb. Reluctant in her role as the slayer, Buffy quickly makes friends and enemies at her new school. While also meeting her new "Watcher," Giles the school librarian.

The Harvest: Part 2 of a 2 part episode (see above)

The Witch

When students start dropping out of cheerleading tryouts by spontaneously combusting, going blind and losing the power of speech, Buffy and the scoobies suspect a powerful witch is to blame. Buffy herself soon becomes the target of a deadly spell as they discover the witch's true identity. Meanwhile, Xander finally musters up the nerve to ask Buffy out on a date but in the throes of a witch's spell, Buffy's response isn't exactly as he'd hoped.

Teachers Pet

A substitute teacher's infatuation with Xander is flattering to the lovesick teen, but alarming to Buffy.

Never Kill a boy on the first date

Buffy tries to maintain some semblance of a normal teenage social life by opting for a hot date instead of helping Giles protect Sunnydale from a violent vampire prophecy. As she's blinded by love, Buffy ignores the signs of the dark forces. Meanwhile, while Buffy's being romanced, The Master is plotting her demise by invoking the wrath of the "Anointed One," a great warrior vampire who is The Master's most powerful weapon against the slayer.

The Pack

When Buffy and the rest of Sunnydale High endure the annual field trip to the zoo, Xander and some other kids sneak into the quarantined hyena exhibit, but leave in an altered state. It's up to Buffy, Giles and Willow to discover the cause behind Xander's bizarre behavior and reverse the transformation before it's too late.

Angel

While Buffy grows more and more annoyed with Angel's mysterious disappearing act, she can't deny her growing obsession with him. Meanwhile, it's killing Xander that Buffy doesn't have a clue how he feels about her and, as he vents his frustrations to Willow , she knows all too well how he feels.

I Robot-- you Jane

Buffy and Giles face a demon spirit who has been trapped since the Dark Ages and is unleashed into cyberspace. Meanwhile, Willow has fallen for a cyber-beau whom she met online and Xander and Buffy are wary of who this anonymous wooer may turn out to be.

The Puppet Show

It's that time of year again. Sunnydale High School's annual talent show is here and serves as a backdrop for murder when Buffy must catch a knife-wielding stealer of human organs Meanwhile, the new principal is a discipline-loving brute who forces Giles to run the talent show and orders Buffy, Xander, and Willow to perform.

Nightmares

Where Nightmares become reality. Everyone in Sunnydale is living out their worst fears. While Xander comes to school in his underwear and Giles is unable to read, Buffy must unravel the mystery before reality folds completely into the world of nightmares

Out of Mind Out of Sight

Buffy and Cordelia become unlikely allies to combat an invisible spirit that has targeted Cordelia and everyone around her. Meanwhile, Angel goes to Giles to warn him that Buffy could be in grave danger.

Prophecy Girl

Buffy wants to resign from her life of slaying when Giles uncovers an ancient prophecy that spells out her deadly fate, as the Master's ascension from the Hellmouth is at hand. As the earth begins to crack open, Xander, Willow and Cordelia face an army of demons and the prophetic end of the world.
