Im a big Buffy, Angel, Charmed and Firefly fan, I also love other tv series such as Sex and the city, Friends and Lost. I love watching DVD's and playing on my PC.

Season one of Buffy The Vampire Slayer was just the beginning (well after the film anyway), the season that we meet all the characters:
Buffy Anne Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar): The Slayer The one girl in all the world chosen to fight the vampires and demons, to rid the world of its evil.
Rupert Giles (Anthony Stewart Head): The Watcher Member of the Watcher's Council, the watchers are the people who guide and train the slayers, tell them everything they need to know about being the slayer and fighting demons.
Willow Rosenberg (Alyson Hannigan): The Best Friend Willow is one of Buffy's best friends and helps her in her slaying, not by fighting, but by using her knowledge to help find the answers.
Alexander "Xander" Harris (Nicholas Brendon): The Best Friend Xander is Buffy's other best friend; he also helps Buffy in her fight against evil and brings some comedy to the group.
Cordelia Chase (Charisma Carpenter): The Cheerleader Cordelia was the first to make friends with Buffy when she started at her new high school, although she doesn't hang around with Buffy she does help out on the odd occasion.
Angel (David Boreanaz): The Vampire With a Soul Angel is a 200+ year old vampire who was cursed with a soul, now he helps Buffy with her slaying.
Personally I believe the storyline is great, showing you how a 16 year old girl copes with not only growing up and high school but also with the day to day slaying and the possible risk of death.
Although there were only 12 episodes made in the first season it is still worth watching and having on DVD.
In the 1st season the special effects weren't that great (bearing in mind it was made 8 years ago) but it does get better as you go along in the season.
As Buffy the Vampire Slayer has now finished as a series the DVD's are becoming a lot cheaper, so if you're a Buffy fan or not this box set is well worth having for the price.

I see you've left this as a DVD review, but you've not really mentioned the DVD. Is it just the episodes you get, or are there extras? If so, what are they and are they any good? If you add to this, or just change the review to being a "Film Only" one, let me know and I'll re-rate.

I agree its a great show but the review would benefit from more detail. It might be worth reading other DVD reviews to see what's helpful.
