As an long haul fan of Buffy the vampire slayer and having sticked with the programme through the entire seven series. I always come back to this episode as being my favourite as i can watch it over and over again. Don't get me wring this episode is not for any non buffy fans as you will just turn it off within the first minute but if you do like the programme and have not yet seen this episode then have a look at it now.
If you have never watched Buffy the vampire slayer then i suggest you do not start straight away with this episode and go back and watch the first series and start from there. The show centres around a young girl called Buffy who has been given the title of the slayer which basically means she must protect the earth from vampires and other unearthly beings. The show features aspects of comedy, drama, romance, action, thriller, horror and basically just craziness so should appeal to most people.
A few of the cast members are shown below:
Buffy - Played by Sarah Michelle Gellar, she is the slayer as well as being overthrowed with all the emotions of being a teenage girl. She is a feisty character and sometimes appears to be too big for her boots but she is a loveable character.
Giles - The watcher. His job is to teach Buffy about being a slayer. Played by brilliant British actor Anthony Stewart Head he is definitely worth keeping an eye on. Everybody who watches Buffy seems to fall in love with Giles as he acts like a father figure and is so sweet!
Xander - Played by Nicholas Brendon. Very very cute and has a huge crush on Buffy. He is a loveable geek who is hopeless with women and also quite hopeless in life. Bless him, he tries to help with the fighting but is really no good at it.
Willow - Played by Alyson Hannigan. Like Xander she is a bit of a geek but reinvents herself as a witch later in the series. Becomes best friends with Buffy and due to her intelligence is a valuable asset to what they are referred to as 'the scooby gang'.
Cordelia - Played by Charisma Carpenter. Cordelia is teh popular bitch of the school and plays it well. She usually gets what she wants from life especially from men.
Angel - Played by David Boreanaz. Angel is a vampire with a soul so therefore offers his helpful services to Buffy and the gang to fight evil. He also becomes a love interest for Buffy.
Spike - Played by James Marsters. Vampire and a really bad one. Hell bent on destroying the slayer, Spike is one guy you wouldn't want to come across in a dark alley.
All these characters are truly loveable.
The story of this episode: 'Once more with feeling' shows the gang facing a singing spell. Absolutely everyone in Sunnydale can't go five minutes without bursting into song. Also there is a demon who is making people dance untill they burst into flames that Buffy has to face.
This episode is excellent and as you can imagine very clever and very funny.
The song list is as follows; 1. Overture/Going Through The Motions - sang by Buffy 2. I've Got A Theory/Bunnies/If We're Together - sang by everyone 3. The Mustard - sang by random people in the street 4. Under Your Spell - sang by Tara 5. I'll Never Tell - sang by Xander and Anya 6. The Parking Ticket - sang by random person 7. Rest In Peace - sang by Spike 8. Dawn's Lament 9. Dawn's Ballet 10. What You Feel - sang by Demon 11. Standing - sang by Giles 12. Under Your Spell/Standing - Reprise - sang by Tara, Giles 13. Walk Through The Fire - sang by Buffy plus everyone 14. Something To Sing About - sang by Buffy 15. What You Feel - Reprise - sang by Demon 16. Where Do We Go From Here? - sang by everyone 17. End Credits (Broom Dance/Grr Arrgh)
Every cast member gets into the singing bug and i was surprised that all of them have pretty good voices.
A really enjoyable episode and even better now you can get it on dvd and there is also a cd out so you can sing along to buffy whenever you feel like it. They cost £14.39 (dvd) and £7.99 (cd) both from Amazon.
Enjoy. xxx

You could have gone into more of why this is so great. I could pick so many moments! Maybe I'll have a crack at this topic.... :) Still - you've reminded me of this episode and just thinking of it is 'guaranteed to raise a great big smile' so that's got to be worth a VG.
