...Apart from this CD being from one of the greatest 50's performers of all time who tragically past on way before his time along with other stars whoose talents like Buddy's were not at that time totally released as had he had the chance then record sales would have boomed. He was a household name and to many even in 2005 remains one of the most reknown artists of this genre of music. When you listen to this CD it makes you think back to the era when playing your guitar in a friends garage was what it was all about and you can picture when you close your eyes being there accross the road watching and listening to the raw beat and riffs(guitar solos) as they were performed with out any enhancing like you get with todays music. This CD has his most well known hits and songs on and is perfect for those relaxing evenings at home... Read review

Advantages: It's Buddy Holly - Enough Said!
Disadvantages: Unfortunately, Buddy's guitar disappears behind the over dubbing

...Unfortunately after Buddy's death, his Manager, Norman Petty hired the Fireballs, who overdubbed much of the original guitar and music by Buddy & the Crickets. The result is that the original music is so far back in the mix, they might as well have not bothered! Buddy Holly was without doubt a musical genius, he was experiementing with elementary overdubbing before his untimely and tragic death. Therefore it is a great shame that Norman Petty treated his music this way. If you want to hear the real Buddy Holly, then there are available collections which have the original undubbed music on them, but you may have to shop around. Buddy's music is far too important and indeed, enjoyable to be treated this way, and you the listener deserve the real thing, rather than a heavily overdubbed version.... Read review

...Holly - Ilex I have seen many Holly hedges and we have a holly mixed in with our hedge, we did not plant it but I think its seed dropped from a bird as it sat in the bush next to it. Holly is an evergreen tree. A holly is easy to identify as it has shiny prickly leaves with sharp points. Actually there is one holly that does not have points on its leaves .The leaves of the holly is green and some are variegated with cream. The female holly produces red berries that are used at Christmas for decoration. To get holly berries there must be a male tree nearby to pollinate the female to produce berries. Some hollies have yellow berries. If you are buying holly at the garden centre the sex should be on the label. Holly is a good tree to make a hedge from as it makes a thick hedge; it is prickly so is good for a border hedge where... Read review
