So begins the Roger Corman film 'Bucket of Blood', in the sage words of the big burly bearded beatnik poet reciting on the stage of the hep-cat cafe where Walter Paisley works as a waiter.

Before you, "kick the bucket," so to say there are some things that people think they want to achieve such as climb a mountain, see the Eiffel Tower, makes amends with family members, etc, etc and this becomes even more urgent when you are facing certain death.
This is the position that Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson find themselves in, in The Bucket List, a 2007 film. I missed this film when it came around at the cinema but managed to catch it last night on Sky Movies as from the trailers it looked good, I liked the sound of the story and they are great actors so I was looking forward to seeing it.

rich man, who drinks specialised coffee and does not care who he annoys. Chambers, on the other hand, is a mechanic, working class and a bit of a history expert.
They find out that they do have something in common - they are both dying. Cole is hospitalised in one of the hospitals he owns and finds that his own rule of two people to a room, no exceptions, has come back to bite him in the behind. Chambers is the other occupant of the room.
Slowly the two men get to know each other, and become friends. One day Cole finds a list on a bit of paper on the floor. It has been written by Chambers and is called the Bucket List. Chambers has written it as a list of things he wants to do before he "kicks the bucket". Cole thinks it is a fantastic idea and adds a few of his own items to the list.
And so begins a journey of friendship ...
In 'A Bucket Of Blood' an acclaimed artist displays his life-like models to an innocent audience... In fact all his 'models' are murder victims. In 'The Killer Shrews' a scientist discovers a potion which changes insect-eating shrews into flesh-eating monsters.
