Advantages: Great actors, good showing of Lee's life Disadvantages: Parts altered from the truth
...in 1966, as Kato. His first movie role as a main star was in The Big Boss in 1971, but it wasn't until his movie Enter The Dragon was released in 1973 post-humously that he became an International superstar. BruceLee died suddenly of a Cerebral Oedema in 1973, leaving him to become the legend he is today.
Now, Dragon: The BruceLee Story is based on a book written by his widow Linda Lee-Caldwell called "The Man Only I Knew". Therefore we can be quite sure that most of the things we are seeing a true and accurate portrait of the life of the young star, unlike other biographical movies I have seen!
The movie starts with Lee as a teenager, being sent over to live in America by his father to escape a life of crime he was creating for himself. It then showcases Bruce's struggles at University, feeling pushed out because of his race, yet how he...

Advantages: Bruce Lee's charismatic and technically perfect fighting techniques. Disadvantages: One of the weaker of Bruces' films???
...The first BruceLee film, some say the best, but I disagree. For a 1970's Hong Kong film, it boasts a strong plotline, but this may still leave western audiences wanting more when compared to modern day features. Advantages: Jason Scott Lee, very entertaining Disadvantages: None
...It was only a matter of time before the life of legendary martial arts expert BruceLee, was given the Hollywood treatment. So it came as no surprise when in 1993, Dragon: The BruceLee Story hit the big screens, spookily being released just a few months after the mysterious death of Bruce's son, Brandon Lee. It is testament to the popularity of BruceLee that in its opening weekend in the USA, Dragon nearly recuperated the entire $14,000,000 budget that was spent on the production.
Dragon is based on the autobiography "The Man Only I Knew" written by Bruce's wife, Linda Lee Cadwell and follows the story of Bruce from his early days in 60s China, where his Father wanted him to go to America to get a better chance in life. After a dispute with some sailors and the local Hong Kong police, he gets his wishes and sends his teenage son...
