The walker family arre as disfunctional as you get! But they're great! William Walker was the head of The Walker Family until he died. That left Mom, Nora, in charge. She has 5 children, Sarah, Kitty, Tommy, Kevin and Justin. All grown up. Sarah is married to Joe, and they have 2 children, Cooper and Paige.
Add to that a business that was left to Sarah and Tommy to run jointly with their uncle, Saul and you have a decent family. Until you throw in William's mistress of 20+ years and his illigitemate daughter!
Holly Harper rents a house from Nora and William, although Nora has never met her. What Nora doesnt know is that Holly and William were in love for years! And boy is she shocked when she does! And then Hollys 19 year old daughter, Rebecca arrives and everything becomes clear!
Nora and everyone else in the family must deal with the new arrival, Holly suddenly acquiring a share of th family business and their own personal/relationship problems!
This show boasts an all star cast with Sally Fields, Calista Flockhart Balthazar Getty, a regular guest star in Rob Lowe and guest stars in more than one episode in the form of Danny Glover and Chevy Chase.
The first season boasts 23 episodes but they are too indepth to give a guide on each one, however, I will pick my favourites from within the season and tell you why.
Episode 1- Pilot This is where we meet all the walkers and William Walker has just died. Its always the best within a season, it allows you to meet and establish a connection with the characters.
Episode 3- Affairs of state Its the Walkers pool party and Nora stuns everyone by admitting she knew about Williams affair with Holly.
Episode 6- For the children Theres a benefit which the Walker family normally attend but this year the Walker children dont want to go. However, Nora guilts Sarah into writing a cheque to attend as it may be the one perfect family night they get. Tommy discovers he is sterile. A devastating blow since he and Julia are trying for a baby.
Episode 13- Something Ida this way comes Nora is thrown a suprise 60th party but Sarah, who is in charge falls sick and has to delegate her responsibilities to Kevin, who doesnt want them! A suprise guest in the shape of Ida, Nora and Sauls mother turns up and Sarah and Joe's sex tape makes an unwelcome suprise at the party.
Those are my favourite in the season! Love em or hate em, the Walkers make compelling viewing!
