The premier 'saloon' car racing series in the UK - the British Touring Car Championship ... more
remains true to the art of pure racing. Drivers get the chance to pit their driving skills against one another in rubber-burning, bumper-bashing battles. This year the 'tin tops' did not disappoint with a great season of non-stop action!With four different winners in the first four races, the 2002 competition got off to a thrilling start. Brief History
The BritishTouringCarChampionship was established in1958, as the British Saloon CarChampionships. Held in the united kingdom every year, throughout the country at 8 different locations. Up until the beginning of this season the tour would take to Ireland as well, but for reasons not confirmed.
Through the years, the championship has taken many guises with the types of cars raced;
* At the beginning they raced production cars
* 1960's and 70's saw the use of FIA Group 1 and 2 cars

Advantages: Race coverage, commentary, EXCITEMENT!!!! Disadvantages: Not many driver interviews
I have been following the BTCC since 1998, and I have to say that it is now more exciting than it has EVER been!!.
The 2004 BTCC season saw the closest title battle ever known, against the VX Racing team mates. The BTCC always produces wheel to wheel and bumper to bumper racing action!!, and the 2004 season is no exception to this fact!!.
There is also some excellent on-board race footage!!. The BTCC DVD does dissapoint when it comes to Extras on the DVD, however this DVD also contains the BTCC Masters race, which was a one off race where past BTCC legends, such as Alain Menu, John Cleland, Kelvin Burt, Tim Harvey and many many more, were reunited, and what a fantastic race it was too!!.
The race coverage is excellent!!, with every single race covered (The BTCC is made up of 3 races per event).
Do not miss your opportunity ...
Advantages: Fantastic layout and great racing Disadvantages: Night racing could be scrapped for next year
Before I write this I may run the risk of talking about something people aren't interested in any more. But I'll try anyway! This is an op based on the time I went to Snetterton this year for rounds 15 and 16 of the BritishTouringcarchampionship - but the twist is it is run in the dark! Hope you enjoy this...
WHERE IS SNETTERTON?
It has to be said that it is actually in the middle of no where. The main road into East Anglia is the A14 but that doesn't run through Norfolk. I live in Bury St Edmunds, in central Suffolk and as Snettereton is on the border of Norfolk and Suffolk that is why I'm an often visitor. Take a trip through the country lanes and think about following other traffic. Thetford is quite near so if you look on the mao you should see Snetterton marked on it. Warning! Even though we have been a few times ...
