Advantages: good film for it's time, good special effects. Disadvantages: none
...I love this film, in fact I love most of Hitchcock's horror films. They are full of good quality effects for their time and always scary. I am always wary when there are a lot of bird around now, I don't mind birds in small quantities, but after seeing this one, congregating flocks of birds can seem pretty worrying! I think this one has a great story line and is very well directed and produced. I think it's great how, even though it is 40 years old, it still manages to scare people. With it's great storyline and special effects, I'd definitely recommend it to my mates. It's a film you can watch over and over again and it never loses it's appeal. As a lover of the classic horror films, I absolutely love this one!...

Advantages: The lovely performances of the Essex girls Disadvantages: None

To date, only the very first series of this much loved and much missed sitcom is available on DVD. Indeed the very first season of Birds Of A Feather is arguably the very finest in the series, displaying a real earthy quality, striking a winning transistion between gritty kitchen sink drama and familiar sitcom terriotry, yet not once quite shaking off its realistic undertone. Needless to say as the series...

Advantages: scary, intense, evil, innovative idea Disadvantages: none.
...Bodego Bay - quiet, friendly harbour village? Or the setting for this 1960's classic horror? well, it's option 2.
This black and white hitchcock classic has left me scared of birds (in particular - crows) for life.
With graphic attacks (see man in phone box, man with no eyes left etc) by seemingly friendly birds, this film cultivates classic horror and a chilling view of menacing birds - playing on a minorities deepest fears and creating a majority!
There are particularly frightening scenes when there are simply birds everywhere - stimulating anxiety and symbolising that there is no escape from your phobias. (eg - on the climbing frame at the school)
the film ends with a silent escape and a drive through the birds, so as not to disturb them.
The black and white old 60's sound adds a pyscho-esque tone (silence or screaming - not much...
