Ok, first of all I have to admit to not watching the first 3 (or was it 4?) of the chucky series and just skipped to this one. There was no reason for it, I have just seen some good reviews around that got me interested and there it was in front of me in the shop. It was either ‘Kevin & Perry Go Large’ or this, and having already seen Kev & Perry getting up to loads of stuff in Ibiza, I thought I’d check this one out!
So, not having seen the first few Chucky’s, I was wondering if I would really get what was going on in this film. I knew what the whole Chucky thing was about, but didn’t really know what went on in the films. I’m glad to say, that if your like me and haven’t seen the first few, then you can get into this one pretty quickly and enjoy it just as much as someone else who has already seen the first few. So don’t let not seeing the first few put you off viewing this one.

In this version, ‘Chucky get’s lucky’ as I have heard a lot of people tell me. Basically Tiffiany (Jennifer Tilly) is the extremely nice bride of chucky, or so she thinks. She has to bring chucky back to life, which includes getting his face from the police station and then sewing and stapling him
up on a doll’s body and doing the old Voodoo thing, which does indeed bring him back to life. However, not all is how Tiffany wanted, and the ring that Chucky left on the side board before he was killed was never actually a ring for her, it was just a ring he nicked that was worth a lot of money of someone who he had killed.
So, Tiffany treats chucky like a child, and sticks him in a playpen. Obviously chucky’s too smart for all this and escapes, killing tiffany and making her into a doll also. Only problem is now, they are both doll’s and can’t really do much to help each other become humans again. This they can do by returning to Chucky’s grave and getting the pendant that’s around his neck in the coffin and doing the old voodoo thing again. But 2 doll’s, how are they going to get there?
Enter Jesse (Nick Stabille) and Jade (Katherine Heigl – Verrry nice!) who are a young couple in love. They have just the one problem and this is Jade’s uncle who is very protective over her and is also the Chief Cop and has another cop follow the couple everywhere and basically stop them, giving them breath checks and stopping them from going out together. It just so happens that Jesse lives next to Tiffany and he is asked by tiffany to take 2 doll’s to a cemetery for $500, the two dolls being Tiffany and Chucky themselves! This gives Jesse a chance to finally get Jade to run away with him, they will have a bit of money aswell. All goes to plan and he picks Jade up on the way. It’s from here things start to go a bit wrong, especially with Chucky and Tiffany travelling with them in the back of the van, scheming together!
Obviously, the ending makes way for another Chucky revival, but chucky does die in this one and I’m sure you can all guess how chucky might be revived with Chucky and Tiffany together!

Ok, so you want to know my view on the actual film itself. Well first off I suppose we should mention how Chucky and Tiffany look themselves as they are pretty obviously models. If you didn’t get that then I would be very scared! The puppets themselves look brilliant. I thought it looked good even before chcuky started to talk and move and then I was really impressed with them! The moves that the dolls perform are excellent and credit goes out to those who created them. One of the best bit’s was when Chucky and Tiffany were having a bit of a smoochy session and they both used their tounges while kissing, brilliant! Not something you expect from doll’s! I also liked the way that they made Tiffany the doll version look like Tiffany the real life version. It’s all very good one could say!
I suppose the above are classed as special effects, but there are other special effects in the film that, if you enjoy special effects, will make you happy! You’ll find that when car’s blow up and someone dies by being hit by a truck, you’ll be left thinking ‘hey they was pretty good!’. So it’s a thumbs up from me for the other special effects used in the film.
Probably one of the things that will stand out to you in the game is the soundtrack. If you’re a rock fan then you’ll love this soundtrack! I don’t know whether it is alternative rock or just rock or what as I’m not into that type of genre all that much. I enjoy some of it but don’t research it or anything! Some of the tracks that you’ll here are the following (although none of these names mean anything to me!)
Bled for Days – Static X See you in Hell – Monster Magnet Blood Stained – Judas Priest Love for Sale – Motorhead
So, if you’ve just taken a quick glance at those tracks you may be thinking ‘well they are all about blood’ and you’d be right. This film does have blood and killings, but that’s what the film is about. The great thing is that the murderings are not done in the normal ‘shot in the head or chest’ way. You’ll see murders carried out with a row of nails that are set up to hit a bloke in the face and being showered in broken glass from a ceiling mirror! There really is a sense of originality in the way the killing’s are carried out!
One thing I must say is that if your offended by things like this, then you should definitely watch this film. It’s got the potential to offend quite a few people! On the other hand, if you enjoy a film which is made not to offend, just to give the viewer a good time and have an open mind, then this is a film which you should really enjoy! Chucky’s a great laugh and so is Tiffany. All I’m going to have to do now is hunt down the first 3 films and give them a watch aswell!
