Well i will start by saying you have got to go and see this!

Its been out for 3 days and ive seen it twice- and its just got better.

Its written and produced by Gurinder Chadha (same gal who did Bend it Like Beckham) and is just as cool.

I dont want to reveal to much about what happens but just entice you to go watch it!

Its a film which explores that typical "east meets west" clash of cultures, customs and dare i say colour.

The cobra dance, street dancing, prancing around in nighties are but a few of the fabulous occassions that you are witness to true comedy and entertainment in the 110 minute production. Just to give you a taste of the entertainment factor one song is entitled "No Life Without Wife" which ridicules the words of a prospective American husband for one of the most beautiful ladies in the world.

The story takes place over three major cities Amritsar, London and LA and exposes the best on offer from each of such cities. Amritsar has scenes of the Golden Temple, local market place with henna stalls and decorated elephants that trump the streets at wedding ceremonies. London has the London Eye, Windsor Castle and a funfair!! LA.........er well it has its best hotel set in the valleys of Beverly Hills. (Amritsar wins!!!)

The characters are amazing in this film. A few of my favourities include an over-the-top, over-weight and over-hilarious mother obssessed with marring her daughters off to the richest men around. Then there is also a hairy, happy, high-on-something prospective husband who we even get to see parade around in a rather fetching G-STRING (yeh, now you wanna see it....!) and finally Lukhie the youngest of four daughters intrested in nothing but boys, boys, boys.........oh and dancing!

Those being the bold characters now for the beautiful----> Aishwarya Rai (Known just a few years ago as the official winner of the Miss World Competition) and of course for the ladies there is Mr. Martin Henderson (who (un)officially holds the title of Mr. Outta This World).

The film whilst concentrating more on being a rom-com, has elements of history that convey themselves through the very obvious differences in the ways and standards of living in the east and the west. There are parts in the film-script for example explaining how India has only yet had 60 years of Independence and is a young country compared to a "rich, thriving America". The film show India however is rich in other ways and in fact to truly enjoy "the REAL India" you do not need wealth and success. The film explores the riches of eastern culture for example the great sense of community that exists wherby locals on the street join in with wedding celebrations and festivities.

If your wondering how much the film is reflective of "Pride & Prejudice" then the answer is that only the very key themes of he novel are used. It seems that the film should not be cricitised for this as it uses the themes merely as a backdrop to the real story it tells that of love once again conquering any barriers put before it.

Don't get me wrong though- this film isn't cliche. Its orginal, its funny and its gotta be seen.
