The Da Vinci Code is probably one of the most controversial books of the modern day. When it was released it caused a storm. The Da Vinci code was released in 2003.It was written by Dan Brown and was an international bestseller.The book has sold 80 million copies as of 2009 and has been translated into 44 language. Most people, I know me included always thought this was his first novel. However, his first novel was actually Angels and Demons which was released in 2000. I've read the book and really really enjoyed it. It's one of those books that I think keeps you mesmerised from beginning to end. I found it hard to put down. Of course, the subject matter is very controversial and although it is meant to be somewhat fictional I can see elements of truth in it. Single DVD Da Vinci Code

Advantages: Once you start watching you cant stop.
Disadvantages: Very difficult to get in to but all is revealed

the whole film and the answers will be revealed, which is why i want to watch it again to understand it a bit more, as there are so many facts to take in and there are lots of twists and turns to the story and it keeps you guessing until near the end. I will not pretend that i know the ins and outs of the da vinci code i dont think any one really does because you will never know what is true or false but this is a fasinating insight to know not everything you were taught as a youngster is not actually the truth. The film does reveal an awful lot of facts which are true, and you dont really need any knowledge of the holy grail as a lot will be explained. I have not read the book so i cannot compare but by all accounts it goes into much more detail so that is now on my things to do. This is a 12 rated DVD and runs for approx 2hrs 22 ...

Advantages: A good story from the Brown Novel, great filming and good cast
Disadvantages: Not outstanding acting, slightly erratic at times, lots of information in short space of time
