...BORNYESTERDAY is a very fine film,it stars JUDY HOLIDAY, WILLIAM HOLDEN and BRODRICK CRAWFORD, JUDY HOLIDAYS CHARACTOR in the film is that of a dumb blonde, she is the mistress of a (he thinks)important man.
BRODRICK CRAWFORD, is the man he deals in scrap metal and has become a millionair,he wants to educate his mistress, so he asks WILLIAM HOLDEN to do the job for him.
She really knows nothing but how to paint her nails and do her hair....the making of the JUDY HOLIDAY charactor is in some ways very like the film EDUCATING RITA of course they fall in love and she becomes very educated it is a great film and I can recomend it, the acting is superb,I have watched this film many times and you see some thing in it differently each time you watch it ...ITS GREAT....

Advantages: It's Bukowski! Disadvantages: It's got Bono in it!
...never really achieve a better understanding of the writer than the one we had before. This may be because Bukowski actually was a drunk, a womanizer and a frequent gambler, as first thought, or it may be because the film doesn't really delve any deeper than this.
Whereas I won't deny that Born Into This is an interesting account of the author in question, in places it does feel as if it was made to portray the influence Bukowski had on the lives of others -- Bono, Sean Penn and Tom Waits each give their story -- rather than go for broke and uncover the man behind the writing pen. Having just read his novel Women, there's a contrast in his chauvinistic sexual tendencies with some of the most touching moments he spent living in isolation, which can be seen in some of his poetry.
Dullaghan has collected a lot of information on Bukowski, but...

Advantages: Classic comedy Disadvantages: Not laugh out loud funny
...develops between De Vere and Audrey - a sort of will-they won't-they story that never seemed to go in quite the way that the audience was expecting. It could also be the opportunity, albeit ficitonal, to catch a glimpse of how the other half live. In Spence's interview, he suggests that it may have been linked to Margaret Thatcher coming to power - power to the women and all that. Ultimately, I don't think the reason for its success is important, this is a well-written, well-acted show, the quality of which is obvious especially when compared to today's sitcoms and I highly recommend this first series.
