Born with a silver spoon in her mouth

Advantages: Classic comedy
Disadvantages: Not laugh out loud funny

develops between De Vere and Audrey - a sort of will-they won't-they story that never seemed to go in quite the way that the audience was expecting. It could also be the opportunity, albeit ficitonal, to catch a glimpse of how the other half live. In Spence's interview, he suggests that it may have been linked to Margaret Thatcher coming to power - power to the women and all that. Ultimately, I don't think the reason for its success is important, this is a well-written, well-acted show, the quality of which is obvious especially when compared to today's sitcoms and I highly recommend this first series. The DVD is available from play.com for £6.99 - bargain! Classification: U Running time: 210 minutes ...

Born To Do It... Well He Did It

Advantages: Lots of bangers
Disadvantages: Nothing specific

The Southampton R&B singer Craig David debuted with his album ?Born To Do It? in 2000, shortly after his time spent collaborating with the 2-Step Garage group Artful Dodger, and so although this has him doing contemporary R&B work, it also features him on up-tempo beats which fit in with the urban raving movement of Garage at this time (the peak of its success). 1. ?Fill Me In? The album fittingly begins with what was his debut solo single, and since everyone knew him most for ?Rewind?, which features as a bonus at the end of the album, he has things begin in a similar sort of fashion with a 2-Step song on top of beats from Artful Dodger as he sings about how he and his girl get up to the nasty as his partner?s parents go out. **Five Stars** 2. ?Can?t Be Messing Around? To me, Artful Dodger?s way of constructing the beats always ...

Review of Born To Do It - Craig David

To The Manor Born Box Set is a fantastic collection.

Advantages: Neatly presented; Excellent quality; Great bonus features
Disadvantages: I cannot think of any.

This box-set DVD collection of the much loved British comedy, "To The Manor Born" is a great set. It includes all three series of this marvellous comedy from the 1970s and includes some great extra features such as cast interviews and commentaries. It is presented in a neat storage box and allows one to keep all three DVD boxes tidy and together. "To The Manor Born" tells the story of the upper-class Audrey fforbes-Hamilton and her life as she is forced to sell her beloved ancestral home "Grantleigh Manor." The new owner, Richard DeVere and Audrey soon bevelop a love-hate relationaship which is concluded brilliantly at the end of the three series. A truely British comedy which will have one laughing most sincerely and thoroughly recommended. ...
