Marc Bolan And T-Rex - Born To Boogie DVD

...This was an excellent film, great story, brilliant music and great acting. The setting of the late sixties really took me back to my youth, especially 'T Rex' with singer Marc Bolan. Very social issues were taken on in the film and the stereotype Macho image was brought into question. The behind the scenes story-line of the strike and pickets I could remember and it was so realisticof the news reports that were on television at the time. The story of the young buy winning in the face of advercity was very well portrayed and there were tears at certain times in the film. A good nights entertainment!!... Read review

...You must see this movie...a class Brit' movie at it's best...If ya wanna laugh, a sniffle, a reminisance of 1984 and see some top acting, go see it...this will appeal to all audiences...yes believe the hype....Jamie Bell is a superb believable little actor in the title role and Julie Walters provides her usual class performance. It is compelling as it is set smack bang in themiddle of the miners strike of 1984 and to add to this they get locations, characters, events and music to a tee, the music especially if ya a Marc Bolan/T-Rex fan !!!.....top movie like i said !!!... ...This special collector's edition named Ride On has some footage and audio clips I had not seen or heard before. Although in parts the sound quality is quite poor overall this is an interesting and though provoking compilation. At his peak Marc Bolan was the biggest thing to hit the UK, he had teenagers screaming and fainting just as it was during the days of Beatlemania. As so many superstars have found in the past fame has its price, and as all who had gone before Marc had to pay his dues too. The 32 page booklet which accompanies the DVD and the Audio CD is a brief insight into the life and times of Marc Bolan, and has in its pages some information that I had not heard of before.
