Sacha Baron Cohen is a funny guy, that I'm not denying. I used to love the Ali G show when it first came out and my favourite charcter was Borat, with is inappropriate remarks beuatiffly hidden behind his own culutural ignorance, it was great to watch. So I was keen to see this film when it came out.
Within about 15 minutes of watching it I wished I'd kept my money. Its one of the worst films that I have ever seen. Its funny moments are simply few and far between, and its confusing to watch simply beacuse half of it is scripted and half of it isn't. I used to watch Borat fot the unscripted interviews, the things he''d say to people was hilarious, but here they are just plain boring.
Its a cash in, and nothing else. Trying to make as much money as possible with mininium effort.
Don't get me wrong there are some laugh out loud moments, but it just isn't worth the money, not when these moments can be watched on youtube. Its a very poor attempt at a film and a poor excuse for one.
A lot of people think that its funny, but I just wonder if some people wanted it too be funny beacuse they were fans of the show that they missed that fact that it isn't.
I know everyone has their own personal tatse and thats what everything comes down too, but in my opinion (and I am a film student if that counts for something!) its pure rubbish.

I see you've posted this as a DVD review, but you've not mentioned the DVD. Are there any extras? If so, what are they and are they any good? If you add to this, or if you change it to be posted as a "Film Only" review, which can be done by accessing "edit review" above the review and changing the drop down menu under the "Which format are you reviewing?" question at the bottom, please let me know and I'll re-rate.

Advantages: Quite amusing in parts, an interesting concept, a short and somewhat snappy movie Disadvantages: Will offend some, a bit too over the top & can make for uncomfortable viewing in parts
