“Borat: What kind of dog is this? Zookeeper: It's a tortoise” +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The Plot - Not ! ============
When watching this film you really have to ask your self at the start, the middle and the end, does this film really have a plot, does it have a story, does it have a core direction. Its hard as you laugh so much during the first watching to see what the under current plot really is. There is no doubt that the people and government of Kazakhstan took great upset at the making of this film and wanted to have it banned. At a very basic level there is little doubt that it picks fun at the developmental stage of eastern European, former soviet states and in particular of Kazakhstan. But as you review the film for a second time, still in complete kinks I might say you begin to see that there is a very anti American theme, indeed you would have to say a highly aggressive anti American theme, which exposes the dark under belly of;
+ Sexism in the USA + Racism in the USA + Homophobia in the USA + Complete Intolerance to difference and diversity in the USA
It is questionable if Mr Cohen aka "Ali Gee" aka "Borat" will ever be able to travel anywhere without the fear that he will be kidnapped my the CIA or American Government in an Extraordinary Rendition. Its hard to believe that virtually anyone
has verbally and artistically attacked the United States of America in such a way ever before.
Before I go any further I have to say that I absolutely hate "Ali Gee", probably spelt wrong also, I care little, just loathe it. I was therefore dragged kicking and screaming to the lounge to watch this DVD. I can still hear the "No No No, I hate this man", 20 minutes later I was in pieces watching one of the funniest films I have ever seen.
Numerous groups and people have filed litigation suites on the film From the USA, Israel and Germany [state prosecutor in Hamburg] to name but a few. With attempts to stop the movie, remove inclusion or steal some of the profits. Borat [Sascha Cohen] will go down in infamy as one of the worst films to come to greatness, well its my view anyway.
Borat will make you laugh for hours, watch it, but only if you truly have no hang-ups and hate bigots, racists and just general haters!
And Now the Plot ==============
Ok so I will actually get to the plot! Not …………..!
The plot is based on a reporter from the Kazakhstan coming to the United States of America to find out about civilization. He is fiercely anti Semitic and falls for an American idol, Pamela Anderson, who he plans to marry, an make explosion on her tummy. He pursues his love for her across the continent, to California, bumping into the darker side of America, and in so doing highlights their innate intolerance to anything not American. I am very loathe to tell you too much about actual plots it will just kill the movie for you. Two best bits are the Feminists in New York and the Southern Dinning Group.
The scene list below is a good guide. Just watch it guys and girls and laugh, unless you are an American or Kazakhstan citizen, in which case you will laugh and then want to probably, and legitimately, to a certain extent, strangle Mr Cohen. But honestly enjoy!

Features =======
These should actually be in the film, some of them are actually better than actually footage in the main film. The Baywatch rip off is superb. There is a section in a supermarket, and its ........... well I don't know and nobody I know who has watched it can understand how the guy did not really punch Borat out.
There are also Trailers and Promotional Material
Don't miss the extras!
Quotes =====
There are simply thousands of quotes in this film so I have picked out a few of my favorites;
+ Gypsy! Give me your tears! If you will not give them to me, I will take them from you! + You telling me the man who try to put a rubber fist in my anus was a homosexual + Pamela! I am not attracted to you anymore!... NOT! + What kind of dog is this? Zookeeper: It's a tortoise + Gypsy, who is this woman you have shrunk? [pointing to a Barbie doll] + F#@k off, Death! + She is my sister. She is number-four prostitute in whole of Kazakhstan + This my mother. She is oldest woman in ALL of Kuzek! She is 43! I love her! Uhh... this my wife Oxanna... She is a moron... Oxanna: What? What? What did say about me, you skinny piece of shit? Why don't you go do something useful and dig your mother a grave, you tall piece of shit! + Look, there is a woman in a car! Can we follow her and maybe make a sexy time with her? + He is my neighbor Nushuktan Tulyiagby. He is pain in my assholes. I get a window from a glass, he must get a window from a glass. I get a step, he must get a step. I get a clock radio, he cannot afford. Great success!

I didn't find this as funny as you did, and thought it didn't really work overall as a film, although there were definitely bits which were funny and very cringe-making.
