Advantages: Attractive, nice range of recipes Disadvantages: Many recipes work out pricey
Cool Food is a very attractive little book, it has a very pretty aqua blue spine, and the front cover has a lovely looking tuna salad on. The book is only small, 18 cm tall by 15 cm wide, but it's a thick book (400 pages in all).
I like cooking, and for a while found cook books hard to resist. I fell in love with this book in Sainsburys of all places, but once I got it home the love affair dwindled.

I like the fact that there is quite a large chapter on drinks, very few books are so comprehensive in this respect. The majority of the drinks are non-alcoholic which is great for families with kids, although I'd have quite liked either a section on cocktails as this book has a lot of ideas that are great for entertaining, or suggestions by the drinks of 'you could replace ...
Advantages: It's a lot of fun Disadvantages: Predictable Disney fare
I've never really been a fan of Winter sports, so the entry of a Jamaican bobsleigh team into the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary pretty much passed me by. What I am a fan of, however, is a decent comedy film, so the release of "Cool Runnings", supposedly based on the story of the Jamaican Bobsleigh team, was unlikely to do the same.
Sanka Coffie is the best pushcart driver on Jamaica, just about to win his 7th pushcart derby in a row. His best friend is Derice Bannock, who is about to win his place in Jamaica's 1988 Olympic team to compete in the 100 metres and follow in the footsteps of his father, who had won a gold medal in the 200 metres some years before. Unfortunately, the trials don't turn out quite the way he'd expected.
In a desperate effort to represent Jamaica, Derice turns to Irv Blitzer, a former Olympic bobsleigh ...
Advantages: Extremely funny Disadvantages: None at all - Great film
Runnings is a pefect example of a well-done feel-good live-action Disney film.
Video - As one of Disney's very first DVD releases, Cool Runnings is presented in non-anamorphic widescreen. While the DVD undoubtedly would have benefitted from 16:9 enhancement, video quality looks fairly solid, nonetheless. There is a colorful pallette on display in this film, from the beautiful vibrant Jamaican scenery to the almost-tangible icy cold blues of Calgary. There are some minor print flaws from time-to-time but these certainly do not detract from one's enjoyment of the movie. Overall, a pleasant video transfer that is not flawless, but is a fairly pleasing effort. It's worth noting that the movie is framed at a ratio of about 1.75:1, as opposed to the 1.85:1 that it most commonly was projected at in theaters. However, framing seems perfect, so ...
