here to prove it. So the veteran band lacks the sheer charisma of fellow Jerseyite Bruce Springsteen, or certain other distinctive qualities--U2's impassioned social conscience, say, or R.E.M.'s self-conscious weirdness--of others who made it big in the 1980s. Bon Jovi is, by objective definition, a journeyman band. But that's not a bad thing. They specialise in the kind of hook-heavy, unpretentious anthems ideally suited for stadium crowds, and that's exactly what they deliver to the 50,000 fans packed into a Zurich, Switzerland, venue on their 2000 European tour, who pump their fists, wave their arms, and sing along from beginning to end, undeterred by the steady rain that falls throughout the show. It's a safe bet that no one there went home disappointed, and neither will the Bon Jovi fans who pick up this great-sounding, well-directed DVD. Singer Jon Bon Jovi, guitarist Richie Sambora and company hit the ground running, opening with two of their catchiest hits, "Livin' on a Prayer" and "You Give Love a Bad Name," before rolling through seven tunes from 2000's Crush their first album in five years, and a host of other Bon Jovi ballads and rockers. And if the 20 songs from the two-hour concert begin to sound the same, you can always switch to the host of DVD bonus features, including a 30-minute "on tour" documentary, a photo gallery, a complete discography (including solo albums), and two song videos. A splendid time is guaranteed for all, more or less, so pull out your Bics and get ready to flick!--Sam Graham Description: After several years of being casually on and off, New Jersey rockers Bon Jovi came together for the 2000 Crush Tour. Advantages: A great package, high content Disadvantages: slightly below par performance
Bon Jovi have been among the elite touring acts of the world for more than twenty years, and to see them live is one of the top concert experiences in music. So it is with great anticipation that any fan waits for Bon Jovi concert releases.
Filmed on August 30th 2000 during Bon Jovis hugely successful comeback in support of their first album for five years, the Crush tour DVD sees them wow 55,000 people in the Letzigrund stadium in Zurich, Switzerland.
... ...best you have ever seen Bon Jovi perform (Newcomers should be suitably impressed) There is a certain spark that is not quite there like in other shows, although this may be down to the fact the crowd are largely uninspiring; it is a fine performance but lacks the magic Bon Jovi concerts are famed for. It is worth saying it rains through the whole show which maybe dampened the spirit.
The DVD as a package on the other hand is very good. This was ...

Crush Tour DVD Review ofBon Jovi - Crush Tour DVDby
X-Calibre
Advantages: Jon Bon and Band doing what they do best Disadvantages: None that I could see
...so hard to believe that Bon Jovi have been around for the last 20 years and still remain one of the best live acts in the world.I remember when as a 15year old schoolboy I was singing along to "Livin On A Prayer" and "You Give Love A Bad Name".20 years later these songs still sound just as good.
The thing I love most about buying "Live Concert" DVDS these days is that the technology has improved since the digital age took over. This concert is no ... ...ride through the world of Bon Jovi, from the up tempo rockers to the epic ballads that we know and love and as Ive seen Bon Jovi in concert I can tell you that this is as close as it gets to the real thing.
It comes in a standard DVD case, and the special feature lasts another half hour, and includes backstage humour and antics,as well as 2 videos,"Its My Life" and "Say It Isn't So"
Its definitely worth watching if your a Bon Jovi fan and if you just ...

Advantages: Great performance, vocals, crowd participation, packaging Disadvantages: Jon's inability to look older now than he did years ago makes me jealous!
...a great addition to any Bon Jovi fan's collection. All the old favourites are there and special mention must be made to 'I'll be there for you' which is simply amazing with the crowd in full voice. There's nothing new about a Bon Jovi live DVD/video. 'Live from London' was one of the best live rock shows available on either format for a long time. However, this title is professionally shot and packaged in a slick, if at times slightly cheesy, way. ...

Advantages: two whole hours of Bon Jovi at there best Disadvantages: couldn't find any
Having seen Bon Jovi three times in concert it is never quite the same watching the shows on dvd. However The Crush Tour dvd manages to capture the atmosphere as you watch the huge crowd excitedly waiting for their heroes to take the stage. I then sang along to old favorites as well as many new songs from the Crush album. Jon and the boys are at their rocking best, enjoying themselves which shows in the dazzaling performance. One lucky lady gets to ... ...the ladies(and some of the men) in the audience no doubt. After the fantastic concert i still had 30 mins of backstage antics to enjoy. plus the two great videos for Its My Life and Say It Isn't So.
I highly recommend this dvd for any Bon Jovi fan. ...
