Bolton Wanderers vs Manchester United 1958 FA Cup Final

As the blurb on the back says;

"It had been 29 years since Bolton Wanderers had last won the FA Cup, and facing a Manchester United side that were still recovering from the Munich air disaster, there would rarely be a more emotive match between the two local rivals."

The Limited Edition DVD comes complete with a replica match day programme, which is interesting in itself, and the inside of the box displays the team line ups and boths teams progress in the competition up to the final.

The DVD starts with a simple menu screen that allows you to select to either play the match full match from the beginning or select a chapter to begin at, on the DVD this option is called the match index.

The visual and audio quality of the match is generally good. Although there are occasional glitches in the sound and picture as the footage is taken from the original recording of the match. The viewer is warned about this both on the box and on the disc itself.

The product is not only an entertaining one but also provides a good helping of social history which would interest not only the football fan but those who may be interested in the period.

The one criticism I have of this disc is the lack of extras.
it would have been interesting to have some information about the players and the teams involved and maybe a feature on other events that occured during the year in question.

In conclusion I would recommend this DVD not only to those who are interested in football but also to those who may like to experience a bit of social history.
