My son absolutely is obsessed by bob the builder and everything to do with him. I should not think he is on his own either. Bob the builder has been worldwide success since he started. We went to butlins and yes bob the builder was even there. Well that was the main reason we went. Bob the builder is everywhere these days.

What is Bob the builder?

Bob the builder is a well known animated character originally from BBC and now on cbeebies and Nick Jr from time to time. Neil Morrissey from men behaving badly and a load of others comedy programs. Neil Morrissey is the voice of bob the builder and always has been. Bob the builder has been around now for a few years and there are tons of DVD out to buy and rent. Bob also has a right hand women called Wendy and Machines that talk and help Bob and Wendy out with what ever they need to do. We have scoop, muck, dizzy, lofty, Roley, Travis, and load more. They help bob and Wendy with their everyday building project's. Spud a talking scarecrow goes about all the time causing havoc.

The DVD.

Now for this DVD there really is no point in telling you what happens in each different episodes has some of them are only about 30 seconds long. I'm just going to tell you the best bits and worst bits of the DVD.

Well the DVD starts off at the main menu where bob the builder song plays. Yes I'm sure you have all heard that. From this screen you can choose to watch them all or pick and episode to watch. For the extras read on.

Ok the Bob the builder starts off with the great egg and spoon race. The winner off course gets a massive pizza at the end. Spud wants to play so desperately that he cheats and wins and then gets disqualified. Oh poor spud. Because spuds on the job.

Scoop the disco digger.
In the one bob and Wendy are far to busy to have a holiday so all the team make the yard into a holiday for them. Scoop is the disco digger but then Said that he can't dance but that soon get sorted out.

The best one I do like is Sleepless Lofty. If you are aware or not Lofty is scared of most things and just reminds me of a toddler in a way. Anyway he can’t sleep because of all the strange noises that he keeps hearing in the yard and the fact that he is scared of the dark also. Though muck comes to lofty aid and tires to calm him down but there is one strange noise that he keeps hearing. That’s all I am saying as I don’t want to spoil it.

The rest off the little episodes are mainly all little ones that last from 30 seconds to a minute.

My son's opinion on this DVD.

He loves it we can put this one on time and time again and he still does not get board of it. I think it helps that you can pick which ones you want to watch. Every so often we changed them around so he's not watching them all from the start. My daughter also loves bob the builder and smiles a lot as soon as she hers the bob theme tune. Quite catchy really.

Extras.

There are many of extras on this DVD the 1st belling the start menu. This you can pick which episode to watch. In all there is about 17 different episodes well explain more read on.

There is a story book. Roley and the rock star that you press enter and the page will turn. It’s quite a few pages long so you will be there for around 15 minutes or so reading the story.

There is also a photo gallery all pictures of bob and Wendy and their friends

Animated menus. This means that the start menu has bob and his friends on as soon as you press enter then scoop pops up and take the page away for another one.

This is also a website link on this DVD. This means that you put the DVD into your PC and providing you are connected to the internet then you can go onto bob the builder web site.

There is also subtitles on this DVD as well.

In all this DVD had 10 episodes plus 7 mini adventures. The mini adventures are the ones I was saying up above. These are the little ones that last any where from 30 seconds to a minute.

Price and where to buy.

I picked this up a while a go now and only paid £5 from Morrison’s. It was a bargain. You could even get one cheaper from E-bay. Most places do sell this like Play.com and Amazon. Prices range from £6 to £10 from these places. Though our local Morrison’s still are selling a fair amount of Bob The Builder DVD’s for £5.

My Final Thoughts.

Well I must admit I to like watching Bob The Builder. Though most importantly the kids do too. I do think that this is the best one for the money we paid and the great value also. As with the new Bob The Builder DVD’s there is only about 4 to 5 episodes on each DVD as with this one there are 17.

I do like the way that they work through things together and If you need help then to ask for it. Showing kids an important message. Of course every single episodes does seem and does feel like the same one and once you have watch one then you have seen them all anyway. Though I suppose a 2 or 3 year old would not think like a 26 year old does.

Neil Morrissey plays Bob well in my opinion and is really quite funny at times. Though personally for me every time I do hear his voice I do see Tony from Men Behaving Badly in the back of mind. That’s probably where they got the idea for Wendy !!

I would recommend this to anyone as this has to be the best valued one I have come across up to yet and brought. This also has to be the best one for the extras also as some of the new ones really do lack the extras and it such a shame. Though One extra I would love to see on one of the Bob DVD’s is how they make the show. I have yet to come across any of that. Maybe one day they may add something in one of their DVD’s.
