This DVD is another one of the endless Bob the Builder DVD that my son has the pleasure of owning. I seem to be living in a house that is now renamed Toddler Land!!!
This DVD has three feature length specials and these are:
Christmas to Remember - This is on of the Bob the Builder specials. Bob has a twin brother called Tom who is a zoologist working in the Arctic Circle, and for the first time in years he is coming home for Christmas, which causes major excitement. The episode focus's around Bob and his crew rushing to get everything ready for Christmas, including helping prepare for a spectacular Christmas concert that is being given by Lenny and the Lazers. Bob is desperate to make Christmas perfect for his brother Tom. It's certainly a fun packed episode!
- Snowed Under - This is another Bob the Builder feature length special - Bob the Bulder and his crew head for the Winter Games in Bobblesberg for this one. They have been assigned to build the Bobsville Mayoress and log cabin. However, they encounter problems as a large snow storm hits the area and strands all of the machines coming to build the event. This leaves only Bob and his team to race against the clock to build it in time. They are also assisted by two new characters in this, and those are Benny and Zoomer. The episode features special guest voice overs from celebrities such as Sue Barker, John Motson and Ulrika Jonsson, who does the voice of Jana, the games organiser.
- Knights of Can-a-lot - In this feature length special Bob the Builder is called on to assist Doctor Florence Mountfitchett of the Local Heritage. The Doctor wants an old castle to be renovated so that he can then open it to the general public. However, the whole special is based around a case of mistaken identity as Bob's Dad is accidently put in charge of the job.Bobs crew gets excited by stories of the Knights of Camelot and decide that they will take on new identities - even to the extent that spud takes it upon himself to "accept" a quest to find a suit of armour.Whilts all this is going on Bob's Dad is outside trimming the hedges of a maze - and he manages to get himself lost in it! Everything is in turmoil as Bob's Dad tries to escape from the maze and Bob's crew need to finish the job in time for the "grand opening" -----------------------------------------------------------------
This is a great DVD that will keep your children entertained for ages. it is over 200 minutes long and is packed with entertainment and fun. All of the characters from the television series are on this DVD - plus a few new characters that have the voices of well known celebrities ( Sue Barker, Ulrika Jonsson).
What I love about this DVD is that the feature length specials really are special - they are much longer and therefore are more in depth and are lots of fun for children to sit down to. The storylines are refreshing and interesting and its great to see how much mischief the characters get into, albeit unintentional! Its also great for the adults to recognise the voices of celebrities throughout this!
As I have said in many reviews before I feel that Bob the Builder is a fun AND educational program that teaches children about different things such as team building, friendship and working hard to reach a goal. I feel it is great that these values are taught in a fun open way and relate to the children watching it.
With so much packed into this DVD I would certainly say it is value for money and recommend it to any parent of a Bob the Builder loving child!
5/5 again from our house!
