Introduction ==========
I don't remember seeing this film advertised when it was first released but one dull Saturday evening my partner and I found this in our local DVD/Video rental store and once I had seen it I knew it was going to be added to our DVD collection.
The Plot =======
Poor Jerry is down in the dumps after his proposal goes terribly wrong to his girlfriend Felicia who also rejected it. Jerry's best friend Nick decides they should sign up to a singles cruise.
Nick upsets the travel agent and it's not until they are on board and cruising away that they realise it is a gay cruise. The cruise is not going well for Jerry until one night he gets drunk and falls into a swimming pool and is saved by the beautiful Gabriella.
Things get good for Nick once 15 Swedish girls in Bikini's and one called Inga takes a liking to him but their Coach also has a steamy session with him! What will happen on this alternative love boat?
Characters ========
Jerry - Cuba Gooding Jr Nick - Horatio Sanz Gabriella - Roselyn Sanchez Inga - Victoria Silvstedt (Playboy Playmate)
Cuba Gooding Jr is always good in comedy films and is able to give an excellent performance as Jerry. Gooding is very funny as Jerry and I can't help but laugh at his facial expression especially when he realises he is on a gay cruise.
I can't say I have ever seen Horatio Sanz in a film but he is very good also and both he and Gooding have excellent chemistry together which does fall in with the best friend performance.
Roger Moore also appears in this film and he is hilarious as Lloyd who is very interested in Nick. I never really rated Roger Moore as a good actor before but after watching this I must say he is because he played his character very well. Below is a quote from Lloyd but you might have to watch it for it to make sense.
"In England, we call them "bangers"
Extras =====
I am very surprised to find no special features on this DVD.
Overview ========
I found this film an absolute hoot and would recommend anyone who enjoys a good laugh silly and sometimes crude humour then this will be a good one for you. I think many men will relate to this film especially when is Nick watching the Swedish girls workout.
The storyline is quite different to other films but can be predictable in places though at times I did predict wrong. However it is very entertaining and the character are extremely funny to watch and will have you in stitches.
This is not a film to take personally as the gay men on board the cruise are not represented very well. I have many friends who are gay and I know they are not how the film represents them but remember this is a comedy film.
This film runs for about 90 minutes and is rated 15, as there is many scenes of nudity and of a sexual nature so it is not really one to show the children, tuck them up in bed first. I paid £6.99 for this DVD from amazon.co.uk, which is not bad value considering there are no extras but just a good comedy film.
Thanks for reading.
