thrillers. A former crime reporter for the Los Angeles Times, Connelly combines a poet's ear for language with a deep understanding of the criminal mind to create dark, dramatic stories that raise the thriller genre to a new level. In Blood Work, Connelly introduces a new character, Terry McCaleb, who was a top man at the FBI until a heart ailment forced his early retirement. Now he lives a quiet life, nursing his new heart and restoring the boat on which he lives in Los Angeles Harbor. Although he isn't looking for any excitement, when Graciela Rivers asks him to investigate her sister Gloria's death, her story hooks him immediately: the new heart beating in McCaleb's chest is Gloria's. As McCaleb investigates the evidence in the case, the apparent randomness of the crime gives way to the unsettling suspicion of a twisted intelligence behind the murder. Soon McCaleb finds himself on the trail of a killer more horrifying than any he ever encountered before.

Advantages: Well written story by Michael Connelly Disadvantages: The film is disapointing as they have changed the story slightly. The investigation isn't as intense as the book described it.

Clint Eastwood stars as Terry McCaleb, an ex police investigator.
After leaving the force in need of a heart transplant, McCaleb finds himself on the case of a shooting in a corner shop.
With the ... ...few different murders which he believes to be linked. The film sways into the usual police investigation movie, far-fetched clues begin to appear as to why the murder had taken place.
At this point I am actually realising that I have forgotten the main body of the plot. Most of the details I am thinking of are actually from the book. The plot changed dramatically and the killer ended up to be a completely different person.

The film is well staged though, the characters are intoduced well and parts of the story allow you to get an insight into some really good background information.
I would definately rent this film, I rented it from Blockbusters - £2.95 for two nights.
But make sure you definately buy the book, read the book after you've seen the film and you will be much happier with the plot development. - Sorry to waste your time.
I say that I would recommend that you see the film, just so that it will be interesting to compare the two.
Advantages: Original, entertaining and very funny. Disadvantages: Way too short !!!
...
What makes Robot Chicken sooooo watchable is the clever mix of visual styles ... using very simple animation techniques and action figures the team create something so simple [yet so impressive]. Add to this the talented cast of voice over performers and the result is a fast and very funny assault on the senses !!!
The humour is very similar to that of Family Guy ... which is hardly surprising as many of the cast and crew have also worked on Family Guy ...
A Few Highlights
The DVD is packed with scenes that Star Wars fans will love ... scenes such as a blood thirsty Boba Fett killing Ewoks whilst being seduced by Slave Girl Leia (a scene which it transpires is the dream of a Star Wars geek) is simply laugh out loud funny !!!
There is also a brilliant parody of the "these are not the droids you are looking for" scene ...

years later for a brief stint in rival organisation WCW before finally calling it a day and retiring.
As is common practice for retired wrestlers, WWE has put together a documentary charting his career. Normally such things tend to be a bit of a love fest, with past and present wrestlers and industry insiders gushing about how great the guy was to work with and how much he achieved in the ring. But with ongoing bad blood and Warrior refusing to participate in the DVD, it was obvious that this one was going to be something a bit different. And here we have it - The Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior.
What's interesting about this DVD isn't so much the retrospective insight it gives on the man himself, but rather the lengths Vince McMahon and the WWE will go to to try to get one over on him. It's no secret that Warrior was ...

Yes, I was swayed by the press. But to be fair, have you seen how good this woman's figure looks?? She is in a pair of size 6 shorts during this video. She is down to seven and a half stone, and she really does look great. Ok, she probably did the workout 4 times a day everyday for four months to get that figure, and not the once in a blue moon that I seem to have got into, but nevertheless, it is a DVD that really gets the blood pumping and the muscles working.
Richard Callendar (Ok, I was slightly influenced by the fact he was leading the class too) is a fitness expert to the stars, well, to Jordan ...
BLOOD WORK, starring Clint Eastwood as retired FBI agent Terry McCaleb, is a mystery thriller about a serial killer whose latest victim was the organ donor responsible for McCaleb's recent heart transplant. When the victim's sister, Graciella (Wanda de Jesus), delivers this strange news to him and asks for his help, he has no choice but to answer her call, against his doctor's wishes. While frisky LAPD officers try to keep McCaleb away because his top-notch profiling skills make their efforts seem feeble, and McCaleb's physical strength and stamina are limited more than ever before, it seems as if the case is destined to go unsolved. But McCaleb's conscience weighs too heavily upon him to let the murderer go free, and the only way to clear his mind and find peace is to throw his full energy into the investigation. McCaleb lives on a boat and is well-acquainted with a lazy, drunken young man, Buddy (Jeff Daniels), who lives on a boat in the same berth, so he enlists Buddy as his driver and assistant. What ensues is an excellent police drama that leads McCaleb through an extensive process of analyzing evidence, questioning people related to the crimes, and breaking codes, and results in a chilling and totally unexpected climax.
