Brothers In Arms: Earned In Blood (PC DVD) Brothers In Arms: Earned In Blood (PC DVD)
In a nutshell: While most WWII games seem to be based on flimsy Hollywood history, ... more
Brothers in Arms is the real "proper history"
deal, making your trail of wanton destruction all
the more satisfying. A mixture of first person
shoot Ã¢Â?Â?em-up and squad-based strategy, the
game features totally authentic locations, weapons
and tactics.            The lowdown:  Since the
first Brothers in Arms game only appeared in
March, the first question to ask is: what was the
rush, folks? There’s no obvious answer.
Earned in Blood hardly marks a paradigm shift, but
still has a number of cool new features: enemy
artificial intelligence is now far more realistic,
and the graphics have been noticeably improved,
with a lot more urban environments. The all new
skirmish mode offers shorter, more abstract,
missions for greater longevity than the first game
and also a great excuse to team-up with a friend
for some co-op action.        Most exciting
moment:  Using a flimsy barn for cover while your
men carefully outflank a machinegun nest, allowing
you to dash out and blow everything away.
Since you ask:  All of the battles in the game are
based on real WWII events. Official photos, maps,
after-action reports and eyewitness accounts were
consulted.        The bottom line: Still the best
WWII game around. Harrison Dent

                             Admire the scenery...
and then shoot people              Has
accidentally just shot a puppy

If nothing else, it was a nice day
for it              Seminal WWII weapon "the
blurry gun" makes an appearance

Brothers on the war path for revenge
Review of Four Brothers DVD by  wendybull

Advantages: Excellent shoot out scene
Disadvantages: /

...yet but was in Troy in 2004 and after this film he will definitely have offers through his door. OTHER CAST MEMBERS Fionnula Flanagan Evelyn Mercer Chiwetel Ejiofor Victor Sweet Terrence Howard Lt Green Josh Charles Det Fowler DVD EXTRAS~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There are lots of extras on this DVD, some good and interesting and some in my opinion a bit boring but I will leave you to make your own minds up on their usefulness. **The Look of Four Brothers** The director, John Singleton and Peter Menzies the cinematographer, talk along with the actors playing the four brothers about how they decided on how to show the scenes in the films. John Singleton wanted to use music a little less than normal and liked the idea of wide informative shots. He says a lot of the shots show all four brothers in it at once. This way your eye... These Are My Brothers
Review of Four Brothers DVD by  AimeeLouise18

Advantages: An easy, enjoyable to watch film with plenty of humour
Disadvantages: none for me

...for both sexes. What added a little bit of a difference to the story was that the brothers aren't blood related. They are all misfits who were brought up by the same woman who adopted them. Two are white men and the other two are black which tends to confuse people throughout the film when they say they are brothers. There are also little subplots which make the film a little more interesting which I won't give away because it could spoil the film for some people. All in all I'd say even though this wasn't as original as it could have perhaps been it was still fairly solid and I didn't notice any gaps in the plot or anything like that. 2) Character Performances ** Main Characters ** > Bobby Mercer played by Mark Wahlberg > Angel Mercer played by Tyrese Gibson > Jeremiah Mercer played by Andre Benjamin > Jack Mercer... Blood Quirky is Simply Very Good
Review of Blood Simple DVD by  ChrisJarmick

Advantages: The film oozes quirky, black-comic style.
Disadvantages: It's a case of style over substance which may not be your cup of tea.

..., Sonnenfeld became a director and is known for The Addams Family, Get Shorty, Men in Black and (ouch) Wild Wild West. The music in the film is from the grossly under appreciated Carter Burwell whose handled the music for all of the Coen Brothers films. Listen fast for the voice of Holly Hunter who'll play a much more memorable role in the Coen's Raising Arizona. DVD STUFF The film was meticulously restored last year (2000) prior to its brief theatrical re-release and the picture quality is top notch. One might notice some minor problems in a couple of the film's darkest sequences perhaps because of black levels, which were not re-done for the brief scenes. There's a touch of grain in some scenes but it's a far better looking film than most very low budget 1.5 million-dollar films. Mostly its dialogue drives the film so... Read review
