I loved Blade and Blade 2. Wesley Snipes was truly great in them and the script and acting was very good. However all of this has disappeared in Blade Trinity. Wesley Snipes doesn't seem interested in playing Blade any more, playing the role more like a spoilt child than anything (Snipes himself reportedly being angry at the directorial decisions and the non-reaccurance of Guillermo Del Toro as director). Snipes was excellent in Blade 1+2 playing the role as the experieced savior of humans. In this installment he is like a spoilt child, the script giving no reason for this change in character.
Many of the scenes in the film are not well written, one particular scene shocked me, as it was done so badly being very badly explained ( I will not go into details as will spoil the film). Another serious problem with the film is its constant advertisements of the Apple Ipod. The younger Whistler is seen 2 or three times putting tunes onto it with dialogue of the other characters actually talking about it. Furthermore during a couple of fight scenes we here music which is blatantly inferred to be playing on her Ipod. I wonder how much cash the makers of this movie got for putting the Ipod in so much?!!
The main story revolves around a group of vampires resurrecting Dracula, who is the worst Dracula I have seen in my whole life! Rubbish acting and does not act supirior in any way to the other vampires.
However there are a couple of good points. The fighting still is very good and entertaining and Ryan Reynolds is very funny, making the best out of his lines. He is beyond doubt the best thing about this film.
The DVD is available for around £12.99 online with the Extended Version being around £16.99.
