It may take you nearly all day to watch all the special features on the two discs, so split your time up and don’t watch all of them one after the other. I think it is amazing how a good film like this one, with two discs and lots of special feature can start of at £19.99 when it was released on the 30th September 2002, then go down to £6.99 in many shops like HMV and Virgin.

The film is a cross in Genre from Action/Thriller/Horror Cert 18 Runtime 117 minutes (1 hour 57 minutes) Tagline: Know The Mark
Small Trivia: For the people who have already scene the film, on the scene before they enter the vampire club with the bloodpack, a huge Neo sign can be easily scene on top of the building reading ‘Radoo’ in large red letters. In the history of Vlad the Impailer, from which the legend of Dracula is largely based, history talks of his brother ‘Radu’. This name is often contained in vampire movies, as the name is deeply associated with Dracula.
The movie I must admit has a weird storyline. Some people say it is similar to the first, but it most certainly is not. The storylines from the tow films are totally different. In the first film it is about ‘Stephen Dorff’ whom does the evil vampire want to rule, which wants Blades blood so he can become a vampire. For those of you who don’t know Blade is Wesley Snipes who kind of plays a good vampire in the films. So all the way through the first film he is slaughtering humans who have been once turned into vampires, and in the second film a group of vampires locate him and tell him that they want him to work with him. They want him as he is the most feared vampire slayer heard of, and all the vampires have heard of him. They tell him that there is a new breed of vampire called the ‘Reapers’ who instead of feeding on human although they probably would if they saw one, fed on other vampires. The reaper was created by a rare mutation; it was something that wasn’t meant to happen. The reaper population is increasing, as every time they feed on other species of life that species turns to a Reaper. Before Blade and the vampires talk, there is a good opening fight scene with the vampires and blade, where they are fighting with their fists. This is a Kung fu style scene and goes on for quite a while, but worth watching. Whistlers back as Blade’s sidekick, and there is a new person named ‘Scud’, who is an armoury expert. After Blade hears the story about the reapers and the vampires say that the shadow council is in trouble Blade tenuously agrees to form an alliance with the bloodpack. The bloodpack is an elite team of vampires trained in all modes of combat to try to eliminate the threat of the reapers. Blade, and the bloodpack now are the only thing that stands in the way from the Reapers wiping out the entire human and vampire race. So the film is about the blood pack and Blade trying to kill the reapers, although they are extremely hard to kill. They are not effected by anything apart from sunlight, if you put a stick through one of them they would pull it straight out again. At one point in the film they find out where most of the reapers lie, they live underground in the sewers and drains. So the gang and Blade go down with huge weapons, including sunlight bombs, but the problem is the sunlight effects them as well as the reapers apart for m Blade of course as he is a day walker.
Kris Kristofferson acts very well in this film as he does in his previous films. Wesley Snipes delivers his normal high quality bloodthirsty action scenes. Nomac was the first reaper to be created, therefore the strongest, he has superhuman power like blade, but he is twice as strong and twice as quick as Blade.
The film keeps you on the edge of your seat and has an excellent brutal fight at the end, Nomac V Blade. A film well worth watching.
Advantages: Best of the Blade movies Disadvantages: They made Trinity
Blade 2 is a great movie and quite possibly the best in the trilogy. The movie has some amazing fight scenes, and I prefer the soundtrack in blade 2 to those of the other two Blade movies Blade and Blade Trinity.
In this new campaign against the vampire race the rules will change. Blade who is now supported by Scud a bit of a stoner and also a wiz with electronics. Whistler could be out there somewhere, but maybe it’s too late for Blade to save ... ...it portrays just how close Blade is to Whistler, he is the only person Blade will seriously trust and listen to under any circumstance.
Anyway the focus of the story in Blade 2 is on a new creature of the night, stronger, faster, better in every way then the vampire and what’s more these new reapers feed off vampires instead of humans. I found this a great twist in the storyline which ultimately forces Blade and the vampires to form an uneasy alliance ...

Advantages: The film rocks, loads of features on the disc which are well presented and entertaining, great video and sound transfer, just a stonkingly good DVD all round Disadvantages: Umm...well the film is going to be too 'cartoonish' and gory for many and with this many extras you could lose an entire Friday...umm, like I did lol
...When I first saw Blade at the cinema I wasn’t impressed. I’m not too keen on the idea of modernising the old vampire myths and you don’t get much more modernising than a half-human/half-vampire ‘daywalker’ kicking Vampire butt in modern day America with martial arts skills and a variety of weaponry! Subsequent watches drew me in to what is basically a comic book action movie with loads of action, some supremely camp moments and of course Wesley Snipes ... ...enemy and vampire killer extraordinaire Blade and offer a bizarre union anyway. The vampires have a deal, join with a specially trained team of vampires known as the Bloodpack to kill these creatures before its is too late, or watch the world be overrun by them. Tough choice, made tougher by the fact that the Bloodpack have been in training for two years with for one purpose alone - to kill Blade and they aren't too happy about working with him either! ...

I had been waiting for Blade 2, I really enjoyed the first one so when it came out on Good Friday I went to see it. I wasn’t sure what to expect, I didn’t want it to be really rubbish like some sequels are but to my satisfaction I was wrong. The film was as good and Blade.
Don’t worry if you have not seen Blade as you can still watch this film and understand it fully, as it starts off with Blade explaining how Blade finished, he ... ...he thirst for blood. Blade is the one to call if you ever see a vampire, he is out to kill them all as they turned his mother just before he was born and in the first Blade this is explained although you don’t really need this information to see Blade 2.

...I am big fan of Blade (I mean enthusiastic, not fat). I enjoyed the first movie, it rocked, and coming out nearly 12 months before the far more sophisticated ‘Matrix’ I was surprised how similar the feel of both films were (though both were pulling their ideas from cartoon art, Blade from Marvel comics, Matrix from a Manga influence). When I heard a second film was coming out I was a little worried and excited, I always dread a sequel (or a Segal ... ...as I have the other Blade on DVD I would like Blade 2 on DVD to, ‘Dear Santa, please may I have…..’ and I did, but was I disappointed, you’ll have to wait till the end.

Advantages: Good story and effects Disadvantages: A bit trigger happy with the CGI in places
quite reallistic with exception to one near the start of the film where the CGI took over a little too much.
Overall Blade2 not only makes a good sequel but is really good as a stand alone film as well so is really good for fans of the original and newbies alike and is recommended to all horror / action fans.
Price & Availabilty:
You can buy Blade2 on DVD from Amazon for around £7 on its own but it is also available as a box set with the other 2 instalments for £14 so is pretty good value for money.

Advantages: Two Great Films in One! Disadvantages: Blade Trinity is not part of the Set!
a vampire, yet a vampire with a difference. He can walk in sunlight and fight in darkness.
In this first film of the trilogy, we see Blade come face to face with haunts of his past as he uses hi powers and razor-sharp weapons to prevent his arch nemisis from killing the world of humans and bringng upon the race of vampires.
Like many films with multiple parts, this first one is most certainly the best by far. The storyline is untouchable and the characters are not only believable, but powerful as well, creating an all rounded film. The actors are wisely chosen and the relationships both on and off screen provides the audience with an amazing two hours of perfect viewing.

Advantages: excellent films with brilliant cast!!! Disadvantages: Sequel maybe too gory for some
with a new form of vampires attacking both the human world and vampires alike. This brings Blade (Wesley Snipes) together with the vampires in an unlikely battle. This film has way too much gore which just feels unnecessary. Some may notice the baddy to be a guy they may know of (hint singer of an old band).

DVD Description
In Guillermo del Toro's BLADE II, Wesley Snipes reprises his role as the part-human, part-vampire superhero based on the comic book character. Following a trail of blood that leads to Prague, Blade (aka the Daywalker) slays a legion of bloodsuckers in the search for his abducted mentor, Whistler (Kris Kristofferson). Soon Blade reluctantly joins forces with a band of skilled vampiric warriors called the Bloodpack to hunt down an even deadlier enemy--the monstrous Reapers, who prey on vampires and humans alike, infecting them with an incurable virus. In addition to battling these relentless new foes, Blade must deal with situations brought about by the Bloodpack's tenuous alliance --in particular, his attraction to the lovely Nyssa (Leonor Varela) and his rivalry with the brutish Reinhardt (Ron Perlman). A hyperkinetic motion picture, BLADE II literally explodes onto the screen with hi-tech weaponry and stunning special effects. The fight sequences, choreographed by Hong Kong superstar Donnie Yen (who plays Bloodpack member Snowman), are remarkably hard-hitting and elaborate. The film also improves on the entertaining original by adding a darker, more visceral tone that's fleshed out by del Toro's stylish and brilliantly grotesque visuals. Both frightening and thrilling, BLADE II is sure to astound both horror and action fans alike.
