The fractious intra-band relationships that have characterised Black Sabbath's long career were a major inspiration for the writers ofThis is Spinal Tap, and so there was something pleasingly symmetrical and evocative of the closing scenes of that fine film about the Sabs' reunion.The concert footage was taken from six of the concerts on that tour. It is conclusive proof that the original quartet of Osbourne, Iommi, Butler and Ward--or, in Osbourne's words, "four dickheads from Aston, near Birmingham"-were every bit as exuberantly juvenile a rock&roll band in their early fifties as their late teens. Also included is a sketchy biography and interviews with the band by Henry Rollins, one of the countless contemporary musicians influenced by Sabbath. It's a nice idea, but the only real weakness of the package is that Ozzy is never granted time to wheel out any of his peerless reserve of grotesque rock&roll anecdotes. Nevertheless, the already formidable case for Osbourne's knighthood is strengthened further. --Andrew Mueller

I really like films which have a political and philosophical bent to them, and especially those which provoke thought, and this film, LastSupper, sounded like something I would enjoy, and I wasn't disappointed.
It's in essence a black comedy, although its humour is subtle. The plot of the film is that a group of people murder someone, but then discover that they were evil. This group of people, who to cut corners we will call left-wing, then decide that they could help out society and humanity by "removing" more evil people.
Of course, what defines evil is arguable, and that is one of the questions which is raised by the film. But this group of left-wingers invite each week a right-wing individual, for example, a homophobic individual with strong beliefs, to their dinner party, and if they decide that they are evil, then they are ...
Advantages: Very funny, Very thought provoking Disadvantages: none that I can think of
the rest of their life.
Thankfully, there is nothing too religious in this other than the fact its called the lastsupper and they all end up playing god. Oh and they have a preacher over for dinner....hmm....Ok so scrap that last bit.
A strange concept, but you've got to admit theres always someone we would quite like to erase from existance, be it murderers, leaders, celebrities, friends or enemies.
Obviously theres a lot of conflict within the group its self, some people get power crazy, others get scared, others get looked at with suspicion. It all adds up to a crazy situation thats fun to watch from the outside.
Certainly some amazing writing that makes you think beyond ha ha and gross. Who are we to decide what is good and what is bad?(he asks on ciao, oh the comedy)
Me. And I say this movie is good. Just try not to take it ...
Advantages: Just a great revolutionary album. Disadvantages: There aren't any proper ones.
This is pretty much the original heavy metal album. I don't think any heavy metal fan exists without this in their collection, and if they do then they need a slap really.
1 - BlackSabbath: We begin in a rainy graveyard type place... This sets the scene of what's to come. Unexpectedly (but very fittingly) the first riff is very very slow, but probably the heaviest thing ever heard at the time it was released. We hear Ozzy's voice slow and chillingly start to narrate a story. This goes on for some time and get's us set up for the album. Half way through the song there is a sudden tempo change and things start to kick off for the rest of the album. As a first Sabbath song ever, this is an absolutely essential song and because of that it cannot receive less than 10/10.
2 - The Wizard: Another absolute classic. A bit faster than the last ...
