Advantages: Important film in film making history Disadvantages: Contraversial. I don't agree with the views of the film, a little too long
The Birth of a Nation is a black and white silent film from 1915. It?s not a film I had heard of before, and the reason I watched it was because it was on the film list for a course I am taking at university.
The film is based on a novel by Thomas Dixon called ?The Clansmen?. I had read up a little bit about the film before I started watching it so I wasn?t as surprised as I might have been about the content. The film was (and still is) controversial for promoting white supremacy, and I thought most of it was quite racist!
The film was regarded as a very important film in its day as it used many new filming techniques which hadn?t been seen before. This is one of the main reasons that it was chosen as part of my course. I found the film interesting as I had never seen anything like it before, although I understand why it is seen as ...
Advantages: Good story line Disadvantages: Rubbish special effects, lacks blood and gore and the scare factor
Released in 2006, ?Death Row? was another horror film produced and directed by horror expert Kevin VanHook. Other horror films Kevin VanHook has produced and directed are those such as ?The Fallen Ones? (2005) and ?Voodoo Man? (2005). You may or may not have heard of these. He has also worked on films such as ?Miss Congeniality?, ?Daredevil? and ?I Robot?.

A dark past.
And an evil?
That will not die.?

After i'd watch this film a few years ago, i went to check what other people thought of it on the internet as well, and i noticed there were mixed reviews on this film. I think it's like marmite, you either love it or hate it.
I hated it.
So i've seen alot of movies in the past and i have to say this is possibly the worst i have come across. I can't even believe Nicole Kidman agreed to do this, for any amount of money - it must have been alot! My brother rented this film on DVD and as a family we all decided to watch it, seeming Nicole Kidman starred in it. I could tell from the beginning it wasn't going to be as good as i hyped it up to be. So i watched it and you find out the twist quite far from the end which i find unusual to find in films as its not very effective that way - i could think of a far better way they could have ...
