Advantages: Real to life stories turned into hilarious everyday moments Disadvantages: None
...similar to that but without the visual part of the stories and the sweating! His laugh is also infectious, he laughs at his own stories and you cant help but laugh along with him
The dvd itself is pretty basic, only his Live at the apollo performance as an extra. Theres a brief opening scene of him being posh and chauffered around but apart from that, thats it. To be honest though you dont need anymore than that, the event itself is outstanding. Very little audience participation which is his way of doing things, he has stories to tell, theyre funny, you laugh and then he goes. Simple but effective!
Some of my favourite stories include going into a buffet waiting to be seated then immediately getting up and going back the way you came in to get to the buffet! Me and my girlfriend had this whole scenario a few months back in an all...

...It was Harry's first morning at nursery this monday, and for the first time since he was born (well, almost!) I found myself in town on my own for 2 hours. And I was lost. I felt very lonely and missing Harry terribly, so I decided I would pop along to the library for a browse and a read to help the time go quicker. As I was leaving, I noticed this film on the DVD shelves, and thought it looked okay and was worth a watch. How wrong was I?!
Friends with Money (pretentious title or what?) tells us the tale of 4 women, all friends but all very different and at different points in their lives at the moment. Franny has inherited her money but her husband seems to think it's as much his as it is hers, Christine is a script writer for television shows but her marriage is in real trouble, Jane is a fashion designer with a questionable husband...

Advantages: hilarious, Atkinson is a comedy genius Disadvantages: only 3 episodes, expensive way to get the whole set
...Having only made 13 episodes you would think it would be easy enough to release the wholebox set as a complete and more cost effective production. But no, because we are english, we are 'rich' and can afford to splash out on the indivual DVD's, and of course we can wait whilst each is brought out at two month intervals. However if you live in america you get one whole box set, straight away, and before we even get our measly volume one with only 3 episodes on it. Arrgh. Appologies for the rant, but it's a good introduction as to why I have had to review one volume at a time. I do hope you enjoy reading about it.
As I'm sure the name Mr Bean will ring bells striaght away. He's the clumsy whimsical character which delighted so many with his mishaps in the 90's. I had to buy this as soon as I knew it was released. I love Mr Bean...
