Billy Madison is a film directed by Tamra Davis. She is the wife of Mike D of the Beastie Boys and directed Beastie Boys: Video Anthology in 2000. She also directed Crossroads staring Britney Spears.
Adam Sandler plays Billy Madison the main character in this film. Billy is a lazy young man who spends his days drinking and hanging around with his friends. His father is a millionaire hotel owner who is looking to retire and turn the company over to his only son but because billy is lazy he has second thoughts and decides to pass it onto his Vice President Eric instead of Billy. Billy and Eric can't stand each other so Billy bets Eric and his father that he can complete grades 1-12 in about 6 months (2 weeks for each grade). If he succeeds, he takes over the company. If he loses, however, Eric will in fact take over Madison Hotels
The early stages of education are shown in detail because this is where he makes friends who show up later on in the movie. This is also where he meets Miss Veronica Vaughn (Bridgette Wilson) his 3rd grade teacher who he falls in love with. He completes school and their is a big showdown at the end to decide who takes over the buisness. I won't give the ending away. You will have to watch to find out.
At the begining of this film we see Billy as a drunk who runs around after penguins, but after the alcohol is out of his bloodstream he turns into a nice guy with a good heart, and i quite like that. Its quite a sweet film because we see one of Billy's friends wets his pants, so Billy soaks his own to make the little boy not feel bad.
This was my first Adam Sandler movie i watched and found him funny. I have since gone on to watch his other films. He can do comedy and stupidness well. I really like this film. Its quite a stupid film but it doesnt require you to follow a complicated plot or anything.
I remember watching it with my brother and in one part of the film Veronica Vaughn is helping Billy learn history and for everytime he answers correct she takes a piece of clothing off, My brother decided that if he was taught history like that he would have learnt alot more. He then changes his mind and said aslong as the teacher looks like Miss Vaughn. Typical Teenage boy! If you want to laugh at stupidness then watch this film. If not then this isnt the film for you.
Universal Pictures Video Runtime 89 mins I paid £5.99 for it a while ago for my brother but im sure you could find it cheaper.

Advantages: Its mindless rather than mindnumbing. Giving you a good laugh without making you think. Disadvantages: Not remarkable and falls flat in places.
