BillWyman's Treasure Islands, Britain's History Uncovered (co-written by BillWyman and Richard Havers) is a most excellent book.
BillWyman, rock musician, somewhat controversial man-about-town and history buff? Everyone has a dark secret in their lives. And BillWyman's is that he is a closet metal detectorist. Well, not so much closet, now he has written this book!
Wyman relates how he bough his first metal detector in 1991, after a trying period in his life, and then spent many happy hours and days tramping round the fields surrounding his home in rural Suffolk. Always with the permission of the farmer, of course.
Why did he take up this hobby? He relates that some men were working in the garden of his house found a 16th century water jug as they were digging. Wyman himself found a small pewter bowl in his rose garden ...
now feels he has become to old to continue with the factory and having no children of his own wants a decent, caring and loving child to take over his position.
The Main Characters
Willy Wonka ? Gene Wilder
A rather eccentric person.

The shack is so small that all the Grandparents have to share one bed. Charlie has a paper round to help out and with his first wage treats his family to a loaf of bread and an ounce of tobacco for grandpa Joe played by Jack Albertson.
Augustus Gloop
A rather Greedy German boy (played by Michael Bollner) who's family seem to enjoy ...
Advantages: occasionally funny, well performed musically with great stage effects Disadvantages: much of the new material isnt funny, frequently recycles old material
simply a repeat performance of the brilliant 'Betrayal song' from part troll, albeit less well executed, and with the audience singing along.
The dvd extras are also pretty poor, consisting of a few flimsy clips and nothing much else. I found the whole thing a big letdown, and found myself hoping that Bill would stop seeking such mainstream appeal and go back to doing what he does best: crafting intelligent, creative and hilarious performances that make you laugh but also make you think.
Come on Bill, youre better than this!
Summary: A poor effort by a fantastic comedian, buy Part Troll instead ...
