Land Before Time 2 - Great Valley Adventure DVD

Advantages: good story, loveable characters & great sing-a-longs
Disadvantages: simple graphics, blurred colours

The Land Before Time has been made into a series of movies, each lasting about 70minutes running time. The first one was released in 1988 and the sequels about 2 years after. Now avalible to own on DVD, you can have the classic & the ultimate Dinosaur equialent of Bambi in your collection. The story follows on from the first movie where littlefoot, the longnecked dinosaur, is orphaned and has to battle preadtors and the elements in order to find the great valley. He and his newely made friends live together in this film under the watchful eye of their parents, or grandparents in the case of littlefoot. As for the general quality of the graphics and animation, I'd say it was quite a let down. It's not really been improved very much from the old Video tape format. Somewhere in Time DVD

Advantages: Feel Good Movie, Soothing and Touching
Disadvantages: Incredible plot

This is a change of image for my favorite Superman. This film is for the hopeless romantics such as me. The plot is not credible to happen in real life but who cares! This is not the first movie that used incredible plot. Hence despite this and some hard to believe things like when Richard just closes his eyes and concentrate to travel through time and a lot of unbelievable coincidences, I still found the movie worth my time. It was so sweet. It touched my romantic and sentimental heart. Imagine the hero sacrificing everything in his present time just to search for his past love. That is true love and it hits my soft spot. The acting may not be superb but passable. The soundtrack is very impressive. This is what I love most. I have watched this movie twice and each time it did not fail to make me fall in love again. ...

Biggles,Simple books for the young or addictive friend for life?

Advantages: Great language and narrative that bridges across generations
Disadvantages: That good that the disadvantage is there can never be enough of them!

and yet at the same time it does manage to awaken this dorment history deep within you so you find yourself hunting down the end of the story lost in its simple yet wonderfuly narrative world. I would recommend Biggles books to anyone looking to buy that first boys adventure story to read or present to their son. Should you have a daughter or young girl also wanting to experience the magic of Biggles then don't be down hearted as 'Worrals' is a female version of Biggles and equally well written. Simply put these books about Biggles from the hand of W E Johns are wonderful and a very enticing world of adventure. It is also worth noting that the older copies of all of these stories are now very collectable and well worth holding onto! ...
