What a brilliant film !! This is one of my all time favourite films of recent times. This film will cheer you up no matter how down in the dumps you are feeling.

THE BASIC IDEA OF THE STORYLINE

Sonny ( played by Adam Sandler – also starred in the Wedding Singer and The Waterboy) lives along with his business type flat mate in an apartment. Sonny’s girlfriend has just left him for a more mature guy – she thinks Sonny is too easy going and very lazy and is afraid of nay sort of responsibility.

But Sonny soon gets his chance to prove her wrong – his saving grace comes in the form of a five year old boy who has been dumped on his doorstep. The reasoning for choosing Sonny’s doorstep is cause the boy’s now dying mother once had a one night stand with Sonny’s flat mate who has just swanned off to China on a business trip.

The five year old, who name is Julian – is the perfect way for Sonny to prove to his girlfriend he is mature and responsibly.

Sonny takes Julian under his wing – and here starts the comedy. Sonny soon realises there is more to being a daddy than meets the eye – like the joys of toilet training – this provides us the viewer with great amusement. Realising how difficult the joys of being a parent is – Sonny to see if the local social services will be fit to help Julian ( who becomes known as Frankie later in the film.) – but all social services can do is put Julian into a children orphanage until they manage to find a suitable foster family.

Sony can no cope to see Julian being sent to such a place. He takes Julian home again with him – soon the pair are more like brothers than a typical father and son set up. There are loads of really amusing antics to be enjoyed.

All is well until social services try to take Julian away from Sonny – cause Sonny has obtained Julian under false claims. Nail biting stuff – especially when you have watched the tow of them together for so long.

If you wish to know exactly what happens I not give the whole plot away and advise you to watch it for yourself. But I will say it ends in happy manner.
