This is a definate Adam Sandler comedy - much along the likes of Happy Gilmore, and Billy Madison - man will not grow up, stuff happens, man grows up.
What makes this different from the two I just mentioned, is that the character Adam Sandler plays is likeable.
Sandler plays Sonny Koufax, a ex-trial lawyer, doing nothing and living of the proceeds of an accident. His life turns upside down when his gilfriend dumps him for a much older man, due to his lack of responsiblilty and commitment. So when an orphaned five year old boy knocks on his door looking for his daddy (Koufax's roommate - on holiday), Sonny decides that to prove he is responsible to his girlfriend, he adopts the boy - Julian - to impress her. Unfortunately for Koufax she isn't impressed, so Sonny is stuck with Julian.
Sonny is freaked by this, and tries to give the boy back, the social services say he has to wait a while for this, so Sonny has to look after Julian, this is where the film really starts to become funny, especially when Sonny decides to let the boy make up his own mind on what he wants to do, including calling himself Frankenstein.
As you can guess, by the time social services come for the boy, Sonny has grown really attached to Julian, and then faces a battle to keep him.
I found this really funny, and also quite clever, and I would recommend it to anyone needing a good laugh.
The DVD has a few extra features such as the obligatory scene and language selection, it also has a making of.. featurette, 2 music videos - Garbage and Sheryl Crow, and also one side of the DVD is for widescreen and the other for full screen, which I feel is a nice touch.
I would definately recommend this for the film, but I feel the DVD extra features aren't worth the extra money.

I have to be careful here. I`m not trying to talk you into re-rating my review, not as such. I am checking whether you`ve really given my FindSame opinion an `unhelpful` because you found the FindSame site confusing, even though you found the review helpful. I believe Ciao encourages you to rate the review, not the product.
