Advantages: Another great series and superb extras Disadvantages: A couple of weak episodes
...is Caligula, Hitler and the Ku Klux Klan. Not surprisingly the good guys are taking a bit of a hiding and Rimmer see's his chance for military greatness appear when he takes charge of the remaining good guys. Chris Barrie is on fire in this episode wheeling out every military cliché in the book and some of the gags are extraordinarily funny. A great finish to the series.
On the DVD
Disc 1 - The first disc has the six episodes, plus the ever excellent cast commentaries. These alone are worth the price of the DVD and are very, very funny.
Disc 2 - As with the other series, the extras on the DVD really make this stand out. There is a lot of original material here and the various clips pieces are thoughtfully put together. Extra's are an important factor when I buy any kind of DVD and the ones included on all these Red Dwarf releases are uniformly...

Park Life Review ofPrehistoric Park DVDby

Advantages: Absorbing and interesting, you learn without feeling you are taught Disadvantages: Lack of additional features
...This series two years in the making sees Nigel Marvin travelling back in time to collect prehistoric animals before they are made extinct and bringing them back to a sort of Jurassic Park.
The difference in this series and many others is the energy and then stemming from that the believability that the host/Actor Nigel Marvin brings to the role.
Nigel Marvin brings his experience of previous wildlife productions to the roll (a few are shart kweek, BigCats, Animal Detectives and rhinos but there are many more) which makes the experience all the more believable and credible.
On the DVD's there are six episodes each of which revolves around a different prehistoric adventure as Nigel sets out captures, and cages these interesting creatures. The DVD also looks at the extinctions of the mammoths, sabre tooth cats and of course...

Advantages: Great theme tune. Unrivalled comedy Disadvantages: You will laugh so hard you will cry
...was the main character in the comedy Brittas Empire amongst others.
Admittedly so by the writer, and even by me a huge Red Dwarf fan, this is the poorest of all the 8 Series Produced. However it does offer great entertainment, and that little bit extra (in terms of features) for those that already have the series on VHS, making it a worthy member of anyones DVD collection.
Red Dwarf also has one of the best theme tunes of any comedy series, and music plays a big part in all the series.
Red Dwarf is rated 12 (although i remember watching it when it was younger). Most of the language is not that harsh or offensive and in any case Listers most used word is "Smeg" which is made up!
