Advantages: Takes you back down memory lane Disadvantages: Vince McMahon's superstars have done so much for wrestling these guys look really bad
...But no thanks to be honest. Anyone who remembers pre-WWF wrestling in the UK on television is likely to be thinking of World of Sport wrestling on ITV. This DVD captures the best of that era. But after the last 15 years of Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, The Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin to name just a few, the best of the ITV era is nothing to brag about.
With a few exceptions. The Dynamite Kid and William Regal appeared in ITV's wrestling. Even nWo founding member Scott Hall made a handful of appearances.
But this DVD concentrates on the likes of Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks. Big brutes of men who liked to throw their weight around. Don't expect any Chris Benoit or Eddie Guerrero (may he rest peacefully) wrestling classics, just big mean men in tights.

Advantages: Twelve and a half hours of quality entertainment Disadvantages: No extras, expensive
...Introduction
I should have known better. My sister's birthday is in February and I thought I was being very organised by buying her a present nearly a month early. As soon as I saw this, I knew she'd love it. Advantages: Many major moments of British wrestling history Disadvantages: Matches have been cut to destruction
...Sataurday at 4 o'clock was something I looked forward to every week.
Watching the characters years later, the magic is till there although the overweight, aged competitors seem far less credible.
Any lover of British wrestling will marvel at some of the significant moments in it's history. Unfortunatly a lot of the atmosphehre and build up has been lost in the cutting room. Did this DVD have to be this short? There are hours and hours of archive footage and 96 minutes really doesn't scratch the surface.
There is plenty here to satisfy lovers of world of Sport, but a bit more variety would have been nice. The producers have played safe and heavily featured the biggest star, 'Big Daddy.' Some of the more skill mat technicians are conspicious by thier absence.
For those without Sky, british wrestling footage is like goldust, this...
