The late great Benny Hill real name Alfred Hawthorn Hill was in my opinon a real comic genius,a true natrual,alway's simmering with mischief and a talant that will be sadly missed.
I purchased this DVD for my Father who's a big fan and had to have a quick look. It shows a range of sketch's and gag's which are mainly shot on the streets of New York city.
The Benny Hill's World, Look Out New York DVD brought back to me a lot of notalgia to the day's when Benny was on the telly chasing anything with a short skirt and slapping some small old bald guy on the head pretty damn quick. His show was axed by ITV back in the eighty's I think due to women's lib not wanting to be seen as sex object's but this saw the end of his thirysomething career.. . The DVD is not that long at 60mins which is a bit of a shame but there's more than a few laugh's and giggles to be had, one in particular is the Street Car Named Desire sketch. Some of the gags are on the streets of New york,including central park the rest are shot in a studio. Benny given that this was his last appearance really does put up a good show at what he does best and I kept thinking throughout the DVD what a loss he was to the comedy world.
Benny Hills, Look out New York DVD was back in 1991 before his death in 1992 (heart attack). So in a way this DVD is like the last tribute to the great comedian which was both uplifting and a real joy to watch..
I would recommend Benny hill's World , Look Out New York DVD as a must for fans and if you found him funny its a worthy purchase. You can get this DVD in the high street although I used Kelkoo to compare the price's and paid £6.99 from Bensons world (bensonsworld.com). There is no special features with this DVD.
