This DVD shows the original show being performed in the folies bergiers in Paris.
The opening number gives a real taste of what's to come with the whole troupe dancing to entrance of the stars. The interplay of the different dancers and styles is amazing-truly a visual spectacular.
Other numbers include Adore who fuses traditional bellydance with gymnastics.

Jillinas drum solo with Issam Housan on tabla, once again reminds why she is the principle choreographer of the group. She blends jaw dropping technical skill with a healthy dose of humour. Her personality really shines through.
Petite Jamillia showcases her double veil. For anyone who is not familiar with this is involves her spinning almost constantly with beautiful veils framing her movements.
I've been to see the group on numerous occasions and it's interesting to see the progression of the group stylistically.
This DVD is good for both experienced dancer who now the dance well and beginners looking for inspiration.
The production of the dvd is good, and the music varied and interesting.
This may not appeal to dancers who truly love traditional Egyptian bellydance as it is most definitely an Americanised version, with high energy and pizzazz.

Advantages: Good variety of styles and good music, good value with the cd Disadvantages: Some of the performances are not to my personal taste
This was the first DVD release form the bellydancesuperstars, a troupe of arguably some of the worlds finest dancers and managed by Miles copeland. I have also written a review for their later dvd, live at the FoliesBergere which if you are interested in this dvd I would also strongly recommend.
This version of the dvd came with a bonus disk featuring some of the tracks from the dvd. This review is of the dvd rather than the free CD.
The production of the DVD is generally good, with the dancers filmed in a space filled with rugs and other "ethnic" objects such as large vases. The one problem with the dvd is the editing. A number of the times the camera zooms in to a specific body part which is infuriating when you're trying to focus on the actual dancing.
