voice and communicative gifts. Someone at Sony has made the decision to place her in the public mind primarily as a singer of French works, and although it would be a shame to see her limited to that area of the repertoire, she does sing the French repertoire exceptionally. Graham sings sensitively and idiomatically in this group of 24 songs by Reynaldo Hahn (1875-1947), a Venezuelan-born, French-reared composer and conductor who knew how to craft a song like few others. In such lovely songs as "A Chloris," which opens the album, and "Je me souviens," Hahn creates a bevy of beautiful little worlds, which Graham and the outstanding pianist Roger Vignoles present in memorable form. This album belongs in the collection of all lovers of song. --Sarah Bryan Miller

DVD Description
The sultry Spanish countryside, 1931. The monarchy is ending, and the army and church reign supreme over Spanish life. In this tumultuous world, a young soldier Fernando (Jorge Sanz), decides to desert the army in hopes of finding a more pleasant way to live and seeks refuge on the farm of widowed Manolo. When the farmer's four beautiful daughters arrive (including Penelope Cruz), in turn they use their own unique charms to seduce (and instruct!) the handsome, exhausted yet willing young soldier. One particularly memorable tip requires a clean handkerchief! A charming, idyllic period comedy of young love and loving. Academy Award: Best Foreign Film.
Advantages: A nice, magical film Disadvantages: Definately aimed at a younger audience!
...wonderfully ?Tinker Bell? was animated.
We all know Tinker Bell from Peter Pan, so it was quite nice to learn a little bit more about her life and how she started off.
There are two songs in the film, one at the start and one at the finish. I find that these still sound very ?Disney?. They are not pop songs and I think they still have the Disney magic about them.
This is definitely a little girls film! I can?t imagine any boys wanting to sit down and watch this. And I also think once you get past the age of 8 or 9 you won?t want to watch this anymore.
The film has a runtime of 78 minutes. I think this was a good length. The film didn?t drag on and my attention was held throughout!
The DVD is available from Amazon right now for £11.68. I certainly won?t be buying it, and I won?t go out of my way to see it again, but it is a nice little film...

Advantages: Great visual and audio quality Disadvantages: None
...The packard BellDVD-DIVX 350 bring create visual and audio qualities. The DVD Player - with MP3 Playback - without Real Dolby - without Show View - with Photo CD Playback - with DivX Playback. I know you may think why do I need all of this when all I want to do is play DVD when I can pick up a cheaper one from Tesco for under £10. Well these DVD players dont offer the same quality as the more expensive DVD players. This is if you want the high quality surround sound. The cheaper dvd player may not have as long as a life the the more expensive well known brands and you could experience juttering and freezing throughout the dvd. So this is why I reccomend the Packard BellDVD player. It is very easy to use and have many functions. Even if you dont want them, I still reccomend this for the high quality of movie you get without having to...

Advantages: A classic of French cinema Disadvantages: Challenging at times
..."Belle de Jour" was Buñuel's first film in colour and claimed the Golden Lion at the 1967 Venice Film Festival. It also won the award for Best Foreign Film in 1968 from the New York Film Critics Circle. It was based loosely on a novel by Joseph Kessel and like all of Buñuel's films it's subject matter borders on the surreal and draws upon prevalent ideas of Freudian theory and the idea that our everyday reality is constantly being undermined by subconscious hidden urges. What concerned Buñuel in many of his films was the way in which our underlying emotional forces and acts of sublimation override conscious acts of free will. This was the movie that inspired the website and the book of the same name that in turn inspired the TV series 'Secret Diary Of A Call Girl '.
The film portrays the double existence of Severine (Catherine Deneuve...
