Advantages: great music, acting and storyline
Disadvantages: only two episodes on this one dvd, and they cut the tune!

...Isn't it wonderful when those child hood memories come back to you, and whats even better is when they are in snazzy updated (graphics and sound wise anyway) version, such as this dvd. Fraggle rock, as most can remember was another genius creation from Jim Henson. For those out of the loop, or are lucky enough to be too young to remember, he's the same man who is responsible for the existence of the muppets, sesame street and of course - the fraggles! COST: £4.99 PLACE OF PURCHASE: eBaY CERTIFICATE: U NUMBER OF DISCS: 1 REGION: 2 This DVD contains 2 episodes which are run back to back which cuts on time and makes the whole running only 48 minutes in length. What they've done with the orginal format is quite displeasing actually, although this version is less fuzzy than the vhs one they've cut down the episodes so that theres no theme... Read review

Advantages: Hilarious Comedy, Beautiful Art & Background
Disadvantages: Only 2 Episodes, Out of Print dvd

.... I wish i could build a time machine and go back to 1993 to fund the last 2 episodes. Apparently there is a 7 volume manga which the anime was based off so this may be a good alternative but again it will be difficult to find due to obscurity. The comedy is insane with characters often lifelike one minute and then super deformed (huge heads and tiny bodies) the next. The dialogue is absolutly fantastic and this is one of the few anime where the English dub actually surpasses the performances of the original Japanese actors. Don't forget to check out the ending credits as your notice the music has a slight resemblence to Beethoven. A parody of classical music at it's best. It's unfortunate that this dvd is now extremely hard to find as it went ouf or print a few years ago. But if there is just one anime thats the worth the effort... Read review
