Beauty and the Beast is a 1991 Disney feature film animation, and is one of the better of the more modern ones of the past 20 years or so, before the collaboration with Pixar took it to a new level. The film takes us to a castle, where a Prince has been cursed to take the form of a humanoid beast until he realises the importance of beauty that lies within a person.
You see, the Prince is superficial, and in a way, this is Disney's way of slamming those of us who are like this. The film does it in a second sense once we are taken down to the nearby town where the lovely Belle lives with her father. She is chased by the hunter Gaston, who is a bit of a ladies man, but who is his own biggest admirer. Ego personified! Gaston is indeed the embodiment of what the film says we shouldn't be looking for in a person, and that how someone is is more important than how they look.
Belle's father finds himself captive in the castle, and Belle offers herself as a replacement for her old, ailing father. The Beast agrees, and thus the remanider of the film sees Belle and the Beast forge some form of relationship, with the Beast hoping that one day his curse will be lifted and he will be returned as the handsome Prince he once was.
The animation is, naturally, very good, although not really a patch on the current animation we are experiencing from Disney Pixar and companies such as DreamWorks. However, there is something a bit more relaxing and classic about this form of animation, the sort of stuff Disney had been giving us for decades before. It's very well done, with the attention to detail one of its strong points.
The plot is very well rolled out on screen for us, too. This is aided veryw ell by the strong and effective characterisation we see. You see, when the Prince was cursed, so was everyone else in the castle, and while he is a Beast, they have been turned into household items such as a wardrobe, a teapot and a candlestick. The animation of giving such things human charcateristics is very well done, and their parts in the tale add to the enjoyment. In particular, the little teacup Chip is adorable! Characters sucha s Gaston are walking stereotypes, and this is equally enjoyable to watch. Such arrogance and ego, that is completely in contrast with the target of his affections: Belle, who is completely selfless in every sense of the word.
Overall, it's a very entertaining Disney film that I highly recommend watching. It doesn't perhaps have so much tension and action as some of the other Disney films, but it has a wonderful plot and some clever music, with its title song, Beauty and the Beast, sung marvellously during the film by Angela Lansbury, one of only a couple of recognisable names lending their voices to the film, Jerry Orbach being the other. I recommend at least watching this, even if you don't particularly want to own it. It's a timeless Disney 'classic' despite it being one of hte 90s, productions, and slots in perfectly with some of the older ones such as Pinocchio and Snow White, in my opinion. Recommended!

Advantages: Great animation, childhood memories Disadvantages: None, I love this!
...know the basic story of Beauty and the Beast? In case you’re a hermit new to this glorious thing we call life, here’s the basic idea. A man who doesn’t understand the real value of life and love is cursed to live as a beast until a woman’s true love releases him. Just ripe for a Disney adaptation, wouldn’t you say? Well, you’d be right. In 1991, Beauty and the Beast was released to both critical acclaim and commercial success. It also stormed the ... ...idea behind the story of Beauty and the Beast. This is of course the Disney version so expect the usual family-friendly approach.
Belle is the most beautiful girl in her village (hence the name, Belle is French for beautiful). She is constantly pursued by Gaston, the town “hero” who wants to marry her because she’ll be the ultimate prize. Although she is beautiful, she’s also regarded as somewhat odd by the other villagers as she always has her ...

Advantages: Great kids film, so romantic, great music Disadvantages: none
...for those who don't know Beauty and the Beast is a children's animated film. The rest will be explained.....
Story and characters
The film is romanic - that is the most important thing. It is also fantasy. The main characters are the Beauty - Belle - and the beast - beast! The beast is really a handsome prince, who has been turned to a beast, until he finds a girl to marry, when the spell is broken. Belle is a very pretty, gentle, friendly ... ...they do as well with Beauty and the beast as they did with the others. The script is really good - comedy great for little ones and some overly-romantic lines that are just great.
Realistic?
Well, at the end of the day, a beast is not going to fall in love with a girl (or vica versa) and then get changed back to a handsome prince. But, it is a children's animated fairytale - who cares whether it is realistic?
Beg/mid/end

Beauty and the beast
This animated movie tells the story of a young shy woman Belle who lives with her father in Paris. He is an inventor and the whole town thinks he's crazy.
Gaston is the man of the town, very popular with the ladies - every man wants to be him and all women want to date him - type of man.
He has a soft spot for Belle and wants to be with her, but when she ignores his advances he sets out to win her heart.
When her father sets ... ...home. As Belle sits at home alone Gaston pays her visit but she hides and runs down to the valley so she doesn't have to deal with him.
Down by the valley, she comes across the horse her father had taken to the convention, so she then knew something bad has happened to her father so off she goes to find him.
Her father had got lost in the forest and had to go to the nearest house to get help in the storm - He made his way to an enchanted castle ...

Quick review of Beauty And The Beast (Animated) (Special Edition) Review ofBeauty And The Beast (Animated) (Special Edition) (DVD)by
disney-music
this film is a classic. never forgotten always told. long story short belle is a wonderous girl with so many dreams and the beast is a prince under a spell. in order to become a prince again he must learn to love and be loved in return, a tale full of romance and filled with songs.
Advantages: really good and emotional Disadvantages: there are none
As an old travelling lady transforms a self-centered, arrogant, selfish man from a handsom prince into a threatning ugly beast. With a storyline, of, he has to get married before all the petals fall off of a rose to break the curse, or else he dies a painful death.
The beast wasn't the only person to be effected by this curse, all of his slaves and workers also transformed from nice, serving people into pieces of cutlery, and tidying up objects. ... ...pieces of objects you would see at a fancy dinner.
As belle's dad gets lost in the enchanted forest, Belle goes looking for him, and tumbles along the beast. See Bella's and the beast's relationship grow, and see the petal's fall... With only a short amount of time to get married, bella is his only choice, and with all the help from his ex-workers, he trys to please this lady. I love this film and recommend it to everyone, 5 stars ...
