...It's only over the last 3 years that I was made aware of Bearin the BigBlueHouse when it was on Channel 5's Milkshake - a series of programs aimed at the under 5's on between 6.30 and 9.30 in the mornings. Every time the theme tune for this came on my son would stop what he was doing from an early age and start laughing - we ended up taping one episode to start with just to stop him crying, it was great. Advantages: You can watch it again and again and notice something different each time Disadvantages: It can never be the same as being at the venue
...Reel Big Fish Live at the House of Blues is a music DVD recorded in 2003, and is one of a series of "The Show Must Go Off" DVDs produced by Kung Fu Records.
Although the concert begins with a few hiccups, it soon becomes clear why the band have such a devout following of "skankers". You really get a feel for the energy and buzz of the audience they are playing to, and you feel as though the band actually enjoy each other's company as well as the recognition they get for their music.
In my opinion, the DVD is 105 minutes too short, and although watching a DVD of a gig would never be the same as attending it for real, I know that each time I watch it I will notice something new, and take away some of the infectious happiness that they omit every minute that they grace the stage.
This DVD is highly recommended to all Reel Big Fish...
