AHM, I SIT IN THE CORNER AND LOOK AT PAINTINGS
Review of Bean - The Ultimate Disaster Movie DVD by badgirl99

Advantages: Will make you laugh
Disadvantages: Have we seen enough of Bean now?

...weekend. I came across Bean - The Ultimate Disaster Movie and we hadn't watched it for ages so we all agreed on it. And what a good choice it was as it had us chuckling from start to end! I remember when I first saw the television series of Mr. Bean back in 1989 and thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen. Rowan Atkinson just has a completely rubber face that seems to have been born for comedy. The character was apparently based on the work ...
...never speaks and so Mr Bean was marketable the whole world over. The fact that he made half hour programmes without speaking once and managed to have us all in stiches throughout suggests to me the work of a comic genius. Bean - The Ultimate Disaster Movie is a 1997 movie which is essentially an extension of the super-popular TV series with a slight difference in that Mr Bean talks - not very much - but he does talk. ***THE STORY*** We begin in ... Huh - How can this is funny
Review of Bean - The Ultimate Disaster Movie DVD by TheNeil

Advantages: Fairly amusing
Disadvantages: A little cliche'd at times

...portrait to the world DR Bean must present the very face of British dignity amidst the glitz and glamour that only America could create. Is he eccentric or just downright insane? The Langley family (who he's staying with) start to have their doubts... Ok, the story is about as predictable as Norman Wisdom walking past a swimming pool but what struck me immediately was the quality of the script. Yes this is fundamentally a slapstick film (I expected ...
...man here and his Mr Bean has never been better realised. Less pathetic than before we see his friendliness and caring side coming through far more clearly than in the TV shows (where he just seemed brian dead to me). Luckily though he does get fabulous support and equal top honours go to Peter MacNicol who provides a wonderful counterbalance. The rest of the cast are less prominant but manage to get the job done, and it all comes together nicely. ... Read review

Bean - The art guru.
Review of Bean - The Ultimate Disaster Movie DVD by daseaford

Advantages: Very funny movie.
Disadvantages: None.

...to have an affinity to Bean that reminds themselves of an incident from their past. I think there are times that we have all done something that we have found extremely embarrassing and wish we could turn back time and undo the event. Times when we have made terrible mistakes, times when we wish we could just disappear and times when we just cannot think of what to say. Bean has all these times, most of the time, but what makes him so loveable is ...
...In this film Bean is a caretaker at the Royal National Gallery, not a very good caretaker, in fact the worst employee the Gallery has ever employed. But, the Chairman (John Mills) likes Bean and will not have a bad word said against him. The rest of the board members conspire to get rid of Bean by sending him to America for three months as an art “expert”, in the belief that the trip will be such a disaster that they will never have to ... Will The Real Rowan Atkinson Please Stand Up
Review of Bean - The Ultimate Disaster Movie DVD by KarenUK

Advantages: funny, witty, feel-good film, Rowan Atkinson
Disadvantages: none that I can think of

...the big-screen version of the Bean TV series was released. Directed by Mel Smith, written by Robin Driscoll (who co-wrote the TV version) and Richard Curtis, how could it fail to be brilliant? After all, looking through Curtis’ credits, I see he has been responsible for about 80% of what I have laughed at over the past twenty years or so – Blackadder, The Vicar of Dibley, Four Weddings, even my all-time favourite film – Notting ...
...Bean movie, believing it to be inferior to the television series and suggesting extending the character into one interesting enough for a 100-minute movie did not work. Still, I’ve never been one to pay much attention to the critics. I loved it. I first watched it on video last year, when my Dad came to stay. We have a very similar sense of humour and both thought we’d like to watch Bean – The Movie, and we did. When it was on ... Read review

I've Bean Giggling
Review of Bean - The Ultimate Disaster Movie DVD by gailmill

Advantages: Good actors, funny, great story
Disadvantages: Don't laugh too much!

...mad keen on the Mr Bean TV series so I watched this film because my daughter had been looking forawd to it. I really enjoyed it and was pleasantly surprised. The story was really good and the antics of Mr Bean raised loads of laughs in our house. It is certainly not one of the worst films ever made. It is a good enjoyable family film. In a nutshell, Mr Bean gets chosen to accompany the painting "Whistler's Mother" over to a gallery in the United ...
...inadvertently defaces the painting and most of the rest of the film is about how he rremedies the situation. There are some hillarious moments in this film. It is NOTHING like the TV program, so go on, take a look. You'll be pleasantly surprised. There are some famous faces supporting Rowan Atkinson here and this film is not only for the kids. ... Bean The Ultimate Disater Movie
Review of Bean - The Ultimate Disaster Movie DVD by  dannycool16

Advantages: A Great Comedy
Disadvantages: No DVD extras

...Bean the ultimate disater movie is a great film. It has a good story line with very memoriable jokes and scenes. A great film well worth watching however the DVD is a bit of a let down with no DVD extras except from a movie trailer. The film has a good soundtrack and a great story however the DVD extras just let it down. There are a few other reconisiable stars in this film but Rowan Aktinson really makes this film come alive with comedy. If you have never seen this film then you must as it is a comedy classic. If you have aver seen the Mr. Bean TV episodes you will love this film. Overall the DVD is worth buying for the film but not for the DVD extras.... Read review

The ulimate disaster movie
Review of Bean - The Ultimate Disaster Movie DVD by  nicmrkhm

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: it really is a disaster

...I really don't think much of this film, the mini Mr Bean stories i enjoyed as a kid but i have to say i was highly disappointed with this film when it came out and i can't honestly say that my opinion has changed. I realise it is supposed to be a kids film etc but there are kids films that are actually great and enjoyable for all ages but unfortunately i can't say the same fro this film. Although Rowan Atkinson is a good actor and portrays the lovably bumbling Mr Bean well, the story is weak and unoriginal and comic value is lacking. i think a Mr bean movie was going too far and was over ambitious, the mini series was good fun but this has crossed the line from funny to ridiculous.... 'I'm Doctor Bean...apparently...'
Review of Bean - The Ultimate Disaster Movie DVD by  pink_champagne

Advantages: funny, suitable for all the family
Disadvantages: childish humour won't be everyone's taste

...I first saw the saw this movie just after it came out back in 1997, and don't remember being all that impressed with it. I watched it a few weeks ago however, and thought it was much better than I remembered. ~The story~ Mr Bean (Rowan Atkinson) is working for the Royal National Gallery of London, where he is their worst employee, detested by the rest of the staff for his general hopelessness and tendency to fall asleep on the job. They are desperate to get rid of him, but the head of the gallery wants him to stay. When an opportunity arises for an art scholar to go to Los Angeles for the unveiling of a portrait, 'Whistler's mother', which is to be returned to the U.S where it was painted, the gallery staff unanimously vote for Mr Bean to go, just so they can be rid of him for a while. Mr Bean arrives in America to be greeted by David... Read review
