I learned about this movie from a friend who I had a great deal of respect for their sense of humour, which was incidentally, close to mine. So I rented it, only to find that despite its good writers, good director, and great cast, it just plain...sucked. I mean I think I'd rather go watch National Treasure again rather than watch this movie and that's saying a lot. This just didn't have it...whether you want to call "it" magic, or a real plot, or a freakishly happy ending, or lack of comedic timing, and, lack of comedy itself. Seriously, I didn't see Get Shorty, the first movie, but I really expected this to be a good movie. However, as a comedy, just doesn't feel put together. For a while I thought I was watching a musical rather than a comedy. I don't think I've seen more music videos in a movie before. The happiness of it and the lack of death of main characters made it seem to fairy-tale ish and just wasn't good. I mean, they try to show the main characters well in adversity but every scene, something incredibly good happens to them and everyone seems to enjoy patronizing each other and it's disgusting. Trust me, don't see it. And don't buy it. But nowadays, buying it is pretty much like seeing it. So don't do either.
