...of graphical representation to bring the facts to life. To illustrate what the presenters are saying, they have a map case that when opened springs to life to show the movements of armies across the land or battlefield and the graphics are spot on. Graphics of this type are not a new idea in such a program, but whilst the likes of "Time Commanders" remains a computer game manipulated to make its point, here the visuals are much more convincing.
A 2000 years span is covered by the series starting with Boudicca's revolt against the Roman occupation, The Battle of Hastings, Owen Glendowers bid for an independent Wales in the early fifteenth century and The Spanish Armada. The more modern battles of Naseby, Boyne and Culloden cover the complex political machinations of England, Ireland and Scotland and the series is brought bang up to date...

John Revolting Review ofBattlefield Earth - Take Back The Planet (Wide Screen)by
Truman
Advantages: none Disadvantages: where do I start ?
...I will not bore you with the details of the sad pathetic and tedious story. This is a film that truly should never have been made.It is from the book written by John Travoltas's mentor and leader of the brainwashing cult 'Scientolegy' L Ron Hubbard.Thank god this man is dead so he can not produce any more rubbish for Travolta to insult us with.I have seen hundreds of films and Battlefield Earth is without a shadow of a doubt the worst film ever made.It is truly awful watching it is the equivalent of having all your teeth and fingernails being pulled out simultaneously while having sulphuric acid constantly sprayed into your eyes,it really is that bad believe me.I had to expierience this abortion to remind me how bad cinema can get and to be thankful for the few good films that are around....

Bad movie Review ofBattlefield Earth - Take Back The Planet (Wide Screen)by
pehchiong
Advantages: futuristic movie Disadvantages: poor acting
...This story features the future in Earth when man becomes the endangered species and is being used by alien beings as slaves to work for them. Then it showed how the humans managed to obtain the alien knowledge and then revolt and eventually emerged victory. Overall the storyline is poor and failed to impress me. It's another bad sci-fi movie although the special effects are good. The most ridiculous thing I seen in this movie is that the humans managed to fly a Harrier in just learning to fly in the simulator for a while! And they can get a squadron of Harriers to fight against the aliens! That is something I find it funny in the movie. I will not waste your money watching it, it's not worth it. It is another bad sci-fi movie this summer....
