Japanese films always seem to push the limits of good taste, and Battle Royale is no exception. If you have a weak stomach, I wouldn't recommend watching it. If you don't, then you definitely should. The movie basically features loads of kids running around in school uniforms trying to kill each other. The plot is irrelevant really, and it does get a little bit repetitive to be honest. It covers just about every possible way one schoolkid can kill another one, with each of them getting issued one weapon, which varies from frying pans to uzis. There's only so much screaming and heads rolling you can watch before it gets a little bit boring though, but fortunately the vicious sense of humour keeps it moving along nicely. It is an original idea though, and hopefully the producers of Big Brother will take some tips from it. The soundtrack was great, it reminded me a little bit of the ultraviolence to the sounds of Beethoven in Clockwork Orange.

I kind of like it when people push the bouds of bad taste. Maybe it's my kind of thing, Nikki x
