Advantages: funny, hillarious, riotously outrageous

...Not seen Blazing Saddles ? Why not. This has got to be an all time classic film and should adorn anyone's video or DVD shelf. A Mel Brooks film also starring the man himself has to be amongst if not the greatest film the man has ever produced. Set in a sleep little town called Rock Ridge this saga tells the story of a rutheless plan to clear the towns folk out of their homes to make way for a railroad. Needless to say the towns folk don't want to budge. The plan to replace the town's sherif with someone totally unaceptable to the people of Rock Ridge back fires big time. This is a film full of jokes, puns, slapstick and much more. If you wan't a good laugh and a storyline that is too easy to follow then you can't do better than this film. ...Kubrick’s penultimate movie abandons the viewer in the midst of the Vietnam War, camera cocked and loaded with harmful intent. Directing with the precision of a five star general, Kubrick leaves an indelible mark on cinema history. “Full Metal Jacket”, a film literally of two halves, opens with the world famous forty-minute boot camp saga, the precursor for films such as “Heartbreak ridge,” could serve as an entire film itself. The recruits shorn of their hair, and symbolically of their identity, are put through their paces by stereotypical drill instructor “Gunnery sergeant Hartman” (Lee Ermey,) who fires expletives faster than an M60 machinegun. Violently tearing away any human characteristics from the boys, he unites weapon with soldier; a key stone in the factory conveyor which spurts out fighting machines, which resemble robots...
