Okay, life changes - and right now, it is DOWNRIGHT HARD!! But, there is light at the end of the tunnel - just hope it isn't a freight train - do you hear that whistle?

Batteries Not Included is a rather old, yet timeless movie. It truly is an old fashioned family movie (clean fun, no foul language) and it is comedy in it’s best if not highest form. An alien species has crashed on earth. However, this alien species is really nothing more than miniature flying saucers. No oblong headed or three fingered aliens here. The miniature flying saucers are a life form unto themselves. The cast, though not necessarily notable, are perfectly characterized in that they represent people in their aging years, or their disabilities, while adding refreshing twists of comedy. The mosaic which is at the heart of this film, while common place, is the sole ambition of the mentally disabled character. The assistance of all the cast members, who alternately revile (humorously) and encourage each other, in “making all better” the damaged aliens so that they may return home, results in their decrepit and failing apartment building which has long fallen into disrepair and in essence condemned, being renewed by the happy departing flying saucers.
The moral: It doesn’t matter who or what is in trouble. Lend a helping hand. Reach out beyond yourself, put your prejudices aside, and live in harmony with ALL THINGS.
Additionally, my mother received a copy of this movie on DVD for christmas, and she was ecstatic.
