This film is just...i don't know what it is. It's...confusing...yes, confusing...normally i'd enjoy a cleverly written film with twists and turns and unexpected things but the only unexpected thing i encountered was the lack of an ending...and no, i wasn't asleep, i was very much awake...
I havn't seen the original Basic Instinct and i don't know if this one is made easier to understand if you have but i genuingly just think Basic Instinct 2 is a muddle. It really is, i can't even explain what goes on as i don't know. No other film as ever done this to me, i mean, i even got Donnie Darko! I can guarantee if that confused you this is going to kill you at least cause you some mental harm in the long run.
Basically, people die. And you are led to believe it is Sharon Stone doing the killing...and then your not....and then you are again...and then your not...and then it ends...and your left like me...like this...writing this review in shock and sheer bewilderement. If there's ever a Basic Instinct 3 i am not going to watch it simply to keep myself sane and of good health. I am confident this film has taken 3 years off of my life.
However, it's one of those films isn't it. Like, if you havn't seen it, and your mates have, they're gonna be talking about it and talking about how they didn't understand it. And your going to be left out. I wont recommend it as i don't want man slaughter charges against me but i will say that if you get the chance to, just watch it. It has a lot of talking points.
(No i am not referring to parts of Sharon Stones' anatomy)
